Embrace Change. Reinvent yourself, your team, your company, your world.

07/07/2026

In my latest Career Renaissance article, I write about what's really driving the employee engagement crisis.

It's not a lack of programs or initiatives. It's a lack of real, human leadership. Leaders who know who they are and aren't afraid to show it.

But authenticity doesn't stop at the boardroom door.

Tomorrow, Tuesday July 8th at noon ET, I'm hosting a live Masterclass: The Modern Executive on LinkedIn: Executive Presence in the New Market.

We'll look at how to build a LinkedIn presence that truly reflects who you are. Not a polished version of your resume. The real you.

Because how you show up online is part of the same story.

One hour. I'd love to see you there.

A Question Worth Sitting With 01/26/2026

Lately, many people I speak with feel unsettled.

Not panicked.
Just aware that something has shifted, and that it isn’t temporary.

I wrote this week’s newsletter as a quiet reflection on what it means to pause, orient yourself, and decide how you want to show up when certainty isn’t available.

It’s not about answers.
It’s about 𝘼 𝙌𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝 𝙎𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙒𝙞𝙩𝙝.

A Question Worth Sitting With Many people I speak with lately are carrying a quiet unease.

As a New Year’s wish, I want to offer you something ancient.

Not advice.
Not a framework.
Not a resolution.

In the British Museum, there is a simple Greek floor mosaic from the 4th century. No gods. No emperors. Just six words meant to be walked on daily.

They read like a philosophy of the good life:

Health
Life
Joy
Peace
Good spirit
Hope

But in Greek, these words go deeper.

Health meant wholeness, being well put together, not just “pushing through.”

Life meant vitality, not a résumé.

Joy wasn’t excitement, but inner brightness, the feeling that something fits.

Peace meant freedom from inner and outer conflict, the ground that lets life move forward.

Good spirit meant emotional steadiness, a nervous system not constantly under siege.

Hope wasn’t blind optimism, but a quiet orientation toward something meaningful ahead.

What strikes me most is what’s missing.

No ambition.
No urgency.
No pressure to become someone else.

Just the conditions required to live, and work, without hollowing yourself out.

As we step into a new year, this is my wish for you:

Not a reinvention that exhausts you.
But a renaissance that restores you.

May the year ahead bring you health, life, joy, peace, steadiness of spirit, and hope — in that order.

You can read my latest article in my in my Substack: https://daniellesilverman.substack.com/p/a-new-years-wish-written-in-stone

In it, I share reflections and insights to help you start the year with clarity and intention.

𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴… 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴.

Support.
Care.
Guidance.
We push them away without noticing, convinced that self-reliance is strength.

But here’s the harder truth:
This is how burnout begins.

Not with overwork, but with under-receiving.

With refusing the support that would keep us steady, resilient, human.

What if accepting help is part of the work?
Part of longevity?
Part of leadership?

This month, a simple symbol reminded me how easily we abandon our own needs and how much changes when we finally allow others to show up for us.

𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝘁…

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗥𝗬, 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗔𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚, 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗟𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗢𝗙𝗧𝗘𝗡 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗧

I’ve been waiting more than two years for a surgery I’m finally getting this week.
Preparing for it taught me a leadership lesson I didn’t expect:

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱, 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲.

So many leaders delay what absolutely needs to change, in their health, their work, their careers, because the timing isn’t perfect.

Meanwhile, their capacity drains… quietly, steadily.

In my newest 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘳 𝘙𝘦𝘯𝘢𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 article, I share what this long wait revealed about reinvention, self-advocacy, and why RELEASE and RECHARGE matter more than ever.

If 2026 is your breakthrough year, this one’s for you.

𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗺𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲. 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

What’s the one thing you need to release or restore in order to step into your next chapter?

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁

𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘳 𝘊𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺 & 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴

Lately, several clients have said the same thing to me, almost word-for-word:

“I don’t know what I want to do next.”

It’s a sentence that carries weight.
Frustration, fear, sometimes embarrassment.
And often… quiet hope.

I know this terrain.

Because I’m standing in it too.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲

After years of managing a chronic spinal condition, I was told I’d need surgery. But first, I’d have to lose weight, 60 pounds, the doctor said. As of this writing I’m down 70 pounds. And now I’m scheduled for a procedure that will decompress the nerves that have been crushed in my lower back for years.

He won’t do the full operation, only a partial one. Enough to relieve the pain. But not enough to fix everything.

It’s complicated.
But the most complicated part hasn’t been physical.

It’s been sitting in the stillness, waiting for this to happen, and asking:

𝗗𝗼 𝗜 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸?
𝗢𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽, 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘆𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲?

This is not a rare question.
It’s the question behind the question.
The one clients come to me with, in one form or another.

They don’t always say, “S𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘐 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘳𝘦?”
Sometimes they say,
“𝘐𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴?”
“𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘪𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳?”
“𝘈𝘮 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘯𝘰 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘪𝘵𝘴?”

These questions don’t arrive with clear answers.
But they are often the beginning of reinvention.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲.

And no courage without reflection.

Over the years, I’ve used dozens of tools with clients, values inventories, interest assessments, purpose models. Sometimes they help. Other times, they land flat.

Recently, I came across a simple ChatGPT prompt a colleague shared:

“Suggest five career paths that align with someone who has experience in [X] and wants to move into [Y].”

It’s a fun prompt.
It’s useful.
And it only scratches the surface.

Clarity can indeed come from clever prompts.
And it also comes from asking real questions, ones that help you feel your way forward.

If you’re in that murky, liminal, in-between space right now… start here.

𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘁𝘀

For when you’re asking 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘵

𖧹 What kinds of work make me feel the most alive, engaged, or at ease?
𖧹 What drains me, emotionally, physically, spiritually, no matter how competent I am?
𖧹 When was the last time I lost track of time while doing something meaningful?
𖧹 What am I most proud of in the past year and why?
𖧹 What do people come to me for, over and over again?
𖧹 If I weren’t afraid of what others might think, what would I try?
𖧹 What kind of problems do I enjoy solving?
𖧹 What lights me up when I talk about it?

These questions aren’t about your job title.
They’re about your life energy.
Your aliveness.
Your next truth.

But there’s a caveat...

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴?

Not everyone can take a sabbatical.
Not everyone wants to retire, even if their body is asking them to slow down.

This part matters too.
Because clarity without context is a luxury.
We need both truth and reality in the room.

So if you're asking hard questions with money in the mix, try these instead:

𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘁𝘀

For when 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘢𝘯 𝘰𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 (𝘺𝘦𝘵)

𖧹 What do I absolutely need to earn to meet my responsibilities, and where is there actual flexibility?
𖧹 Could I reshape what I already know into a consulting or advisory offer?
𖧹 What would a "bridge role" look like, something that pays the bills but makes space for what I’m becoming?
𖧹 What am I holding onto out of fear, rather than desire?
𖧹 Where could I simplify, streamline, or offload, so I’m not running at full tilt?
𖧹 Who do I need to have a real conversation with so it doesn’t stay only in my head? Partner, financial planner, mentor,…

We don't often talk about this.

But it’s one of the most courageous things you can do:
To say, 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦… 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘐 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤.

Courage isn’t just about quitting.
Sometimes, it’s about planning.

𝗜 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀.

But I’m asking better questions.

That, in itself, is momentum.

Whether you're in transition, transformation, or just trying to stay afloat…you’re not alone.

This work is hard.
But it’s also sacred.
Because it’s the work of reclaiming who you are, not just what you do.

𝗜’𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘆𝗼𝘂.

𖧹 Which question stayed with you?
𖧹 What’s one truth you’ve been circling lately?

If you're stuck, tired, curious, or unsure, please feel free to reach out. I’m here to help you sort through the noise.

In executive coaching sessions, I keep hearing:

“We’re waiting for things to settle.”
“We just need to get through this next quarter.”
“Let’s see what happens next year.”

But here’s the truth: 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴. And waiting for it won’t help.

The only sustainable strategy now is reinvention — at the personal, leadership, and organizational level.

That’s why I’m a strong advocate of the 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗯 with Dr. Nadya Zhexembayeva.
I’ve attended it myself, more than once. Each time I learn something new, and I’ve watched it transform how leaders think, act, and lead.

This is for you if you’re:
-Rethinking your role or business model
-Leading others through change
-Coaching clients through complex transitions
-Considering a personal or career reinvention

In 2024, I paused my life.

I had been preparing for surgery. Certain I’d be out of action for six months.
So I held off on launching new work. On deepening my client strategy. On pursuing big ideas.

And then… the surgery was postponed.

Not canceled. Just… “not yet.”

Suddenly I saw it for what it was:

𝗔 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲.

We do this all the time in career transitions, don’t we?
Waiting for clarity. The perfect role. The green light.

But momentum doesn’t come from waiting, it comes from action.

That’s why I’m inviting you to the 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗯, August 25–29.
It’s helped me reframe, refocus, and re-engage.

The data doesn’t lie.

In the latest Global Reinvention Survey, 𝟱𝟯% 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 reported they now must reinvent every 𝟯 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 just to survive let alone thrive.

Compare that to the 20th century, when reinvention happened once 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝟯𝟬 – 𝟰𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀.

Here’s the thing: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲…

It’s building a system to thrive 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙩 waiting for stability.
This is the world I work in.
And it’s why I encourage the executives and professionals I work with to treat reinvention as a skill not a last resort.

That’s why I’m once again joining the 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗯 this August.

-3 practical reinvention tools
-A global network of change-makers
-A mix of strategy, science, and humanity

It’s free — and with my code, you get a Bonus Pass with extended access and two bonus workshops.
