Amputee Hockey Event Alert! 🦾🏒

NubAbility Athletics will be hosting it’s first ever hockey camp in Buffalo from April 12-13, and we are looking for kids with limb differences who would like to play!

Travel and lodging expenses for Canadians and Americans alike can be covered by applying for a NubAbility scholarship for those who need it.

Canadian amputee hockey players Graham Spero, James Jordan and Nik Provenzano will be leading the event. Graham and James have both been involved with the Canadian Amputee Hockey Team for decades and both are well known in the amputee community for their work with The War Amps.

All skill levels, from those who’ve never skated to those preparing for playoffs, are encouraged to register. Skates and equipment will be provided and elite sessions will be available for advanced players.

Whether you’re just starting out or you’re getting ready for playoff season, this is your chance to connect with others in the community, grow the game we love, and have an amazing time on the ice!

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our friend, Don Wade, who left us last night. Don was not only a dedicated leader on the ice but also a true friend and mentor to all who knew him. His passion for the game and his unwavering support for all of us will always be remembered.

As we process this loss, we invite everyone to share their memories, stories, and photos of Don here in the group. Let's come together to celebrate his life and the incredible impact he had on all of us.

Rest in peace, Don. You will always be remembered as a Canadian legend, a world champion, and for being a great person to be around. You were truly something special.

The Canadian Amputee Hockey Team is looking for two representatives in the Toronto area to represent the team at an NHL all star weekend event in collaboration with the Canadian Blind Hockey Team and the MLSE House of Hockey.

The event is a Disability Ball Hockey Skills Competition on Friday, Feb 2 from 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm.

Please contact Graham Spero if interested. Preferance will be given to children if we have any youth in the program who can attend.

The Canadian Amputee Hockey Committee plans to host an event this fall, possibly late November.

We are looking into a few potential locations to have the weekend camp.
Hamilton, Toronto and Ottawa have all been suggested locations however we will certainly look at other options if presented.
