“Essentrics brought me to Montreal for a few days, starting with a photo shoot with their team. I’d done one of these before, but there’s a lot you don’t see in the finished photos, so I thought it would be fun to share a little of what goes on behind the scenes.

And since we were in Montreal, we made sure to enjoy it with lots of walking, great food, and a trip up Mont Royal.

Fourteen years ago, I never would have guessed teaching Essentrics would bring opportunities like this. I’m very grateful it did.”

Your arms can help strengthen your core without a single piece of equipment ⬇

In Essentrics, we use our arms as pieces of equipment to lengthen and strengthen the muscles of the torso. The farther your limbs reach away from your center, the more your body has to work to stabilize and support them.

This is especially true in our standing exercises, where the body works upright and bears its own weight while the arms and legs create resistance through movements that reflect the ways we move in everyday life. Moving in all planes of motion encourages the whole body to work together, helping create strength, length and stability from head to toe.

The benefits extend beyond the workout. The way we hold our bodies throughout the day can have a profound effect on how we move and feel. With regular practice, Essentrics can help retrain the body toward better alignment while strengthening the muscles that support the spine, abdominals, back, and arms.

No additional equipment needed.

A new relationship with movement is possible 🌿

“I have been looking for a way to gain flexibility and tone my core. I tried yoga but it was too long and I was intimidated by the others in the group. I have been doing Classical Stretch every morning now for a week and I LOVE it. Well it is challenging, but Miranda is so encouraging and lovely in her presentation [that] I want to try my best. I immediately feel great afterwards and it is only a half an hour and I am done. This is a perfect workout for me. I am very grateful for the workout and for Miranda’s energy. What a wonderful find! Thank you!”

There's a reason your favorite playlist makes a hard workout feel effortless 🎶

Music doesn't just motivate us – it speaks directly to the nervous system, helping to relax the body, improve focus, boost endurance, and even make challenging exercises feel more enjoyable!

That's why music has always been an integral part of Essentrics. Every song in our workouts is thoughtfully chosen to complement the movement, creating a connection between what you hear and how you move. And when the right music meets the right movement? It's science, but it feels like magic ✨

A healthier body begins with healthy connective tissue 💫

Your connective tissue is the body's supportive network, surrounding and connecting every muscle, joint and organ. Without regular movement, these tissues can become stiff, leaving you feeling tight and restricting your mobility.

Essentrics uses fluid, full-body movements to gently hydrate, mobilize, and restore healthy connective tissue. The result is improved mobility, increased flexibility, and a body that feels lighter, freer and more resilient.
