As Hans approaches the Western States start line on Saturday, he'll be lining up for the biggest race of his career.

And the timing couldn't be better. He's won the JFK 50 Miler, set the course record at Black Canyon 100K, and battled through the mud for victory at Twisted Fork 30K. By every measure, this has been the strongest training block of his life.

Many, including him, think he could win at WSER, and that scares him.

Because even though his resume points to success, a question still lurks in the back of his mind: "what if that was all just luck?"

Learn more about Hans Troyer's approach to battling doubt, balancing grit and self-preservation, and how he’s applying it all to Western States this weekend at: https://ca.coros.com/stories/athlete-stories/c/hans-troyer-fearless

How did Mǎdǎlina Florea take the win at this year's Broken Arrow 23K? One number: 175 BPM.

By choosing to power hike the steep climbs up Emigrant Pass and KT-22 to keep her heart rate below her target of 175 BPM, Mǎdǎlina saved valuable energy for the decisive final climb out of Shirley Canyon.

Despite the temptation to race hard at the front, Mǎdǎlina remained composed and trusted her strategy from start to finish.

In running, time and distance are universal. Meters. Feet. Seconds. Minutes. ⏱️

Then there's heart rate: a personal window into your own effort, and what stress really looks like on your body.

Heart rate zones are unique to everyone, and understanding your baselines is key to training and racing smarter.

Swipe to see how COROS athletes' heart rates varied during recent races or visit the below to learn more about your own Heart Rate Zones, and how to apply them to your training.

Molly’s first 100 miler.

Next week, Molly Seidel will stand on the start line of Western States for the first time. This race marks a new distance in a new discipline, but it's not the first time she's faced a daunting challenge.

“Half the battle of running is overcoming those doubts because they’re always going to come up. The fact that you experience doubt doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you. It means you’re human.”

Choosing to face fear rather than avoid it is something Molly has carried throughout her career, and one she'll lean into again as she heads to the Olympic Valley next week.

Molly shared her feelings around the race, her move to trail running, and how fear has shaped her career ahead of Western States. Read about her journey at the link below.

Be Fearless.

Khumbu Valley, Nepal. March 2026.

thinks a lot about the art of preparation behind everything he does, whether it’s climbing, photography, or making films. Each requires an investment of time and energy, and an understanding of the experience he hopes to have.

That pursuit is what led him to COROS. He’d followed the brand for years, and from the beginning, there was an alignment in how we both think about the mountains, preparation, and pushing into the unknown. We are both interested in exploring the same question: what does it mean to push beyond barriers that once felt impossible?

To learn more about the partnership, check out our recent interview with Jimmy Chin at the link in our bio.

Approach -> Climb -> Descend

Outdoor climbing is highly nuanced, and we engineered our Outdoor Climb Mode to reflect that.

Record every phase of the climb from the hike to the base, swapping leads/belays, to the walk-off or rappel at the end. By COROS capturing the details, it frees you to stay present in the moment, knowing your watch is quietly recording the climb for your adventure journal, or effort analysis once the day is wrapped up.

Learn more about how to use the Outdoor Climb Mode in our recent blog post. 🧗🏻‍♀️ https://ca.coros.com/stories/coros-coaches/c/capture-multi-pitch-climbs
