GMRC Ice Cream Run

Early Bib Pick Up is FRIDAY, AUGUST 14 at the Riverfront Gazebo off Coverdale Road in Riverview, from 6 to 8pm. We are kindly asking as many runners as possible to pick up bibs Friday so things will be less crazy for our volunteers Saturday morning (plus it'll give you a few extra minutes to sleep in/do your warm up instead)! If you need to pick up your bib Saturday morning, please do so as early as possible; bib pick up ends by 7:45am!

We use a homemade chip timing system at the GMRC Ice Cream Run that requires a bib AND a separate timing chip. Both are important and must be worn by 5 and 10k participants! The bib goes on the runner's FRONT (so it can be seen by finish line crew as you approach the finish line) and the chip goes on the runner's SIDE (so it can be read by our side scanners at the finish, and you get an official time). We can supply you pins for both! Your bib and chip are linked, so be sure to wear the chip that matches your bib number - if you don't, your finish time will be assigned to someone else. At the finish, please return your chip to our volunteer chip collectors; we reuse these at future events. Thank you for following these instructions to make our race an accurate one!

Will there be a new record set this Saturday at the GMRC Ice Cream Run? We already have some pretty speedy times on the books, but with the right people on the right day, anything can happen!

We know there are some disappointed folks who missed out on registering for the Ice Cream Run in time. We closed registration early as we had already surpassed the number of runners we had last year, and the number we felt could safely be accommodated for on open roads. We may look at requesting road closures in the future, but that comes with mandatory police presence, and added costs. Our overall goal remains providing an affordable, certified race for local runners, and to keep it safe and inexpensive, we need a cap. That said, if you are someone who registered for the run who are now no longer able to attend for whatever reason, please let us know, and we will work to transfer your bib to someone on the waitlist. The GMRC Ice Cream Run is now sold out! We can't wait to host you on the streets of Riverview next Saturday for an awesome day of racing!

Due to high registration numbers, we will be closing registration for the GMRC Ice Cream Run early (we're technically over capacity as is!). If you are still interested in joining the fun, your last day to sign up is Friday, August 7th.

Here is the schedule of events for the GMRC Ice Cream Run this year! Please note there will be NO day of registration this year - registration must be done online, and be complete by Wednesday, August 12th. Also the 5 and 10k will have slightly different start times, to help ease congestion in the first kilometre.
