This image depicts a moment in time capturing the life span of Hirokazu Kanazawa (1931–2019), a renowned Japanese karate master. Subject: Hirokazu Kanazawa, a pioneer in spreading Shotokan Karate internationally and the founder of the Shotokan Karate-do International Federation (SKIF). 1950 Image: Shows Kanazawa as a young man, early in his training, likely around the time he entered Takushoku University and began training under Gichin Funakoshi. 2019 Image: Shows Kanazawa in his final year of life, having dedicated nearly seven decades to the art of karate. Legacy: He was known for his technical prowess, specifically his mastery of kata and kumite, and was awarded the 10th dan rank.
