A note from our team, and an important one.
We've been hearing from people who've been contacted by someone claiming to be Rick Lagina — through Facebook, Instagram, dating apps, WhatsApp, and other messages. Some have been asked for money, gift cards, or cryptocurrency. Some have been drawn into what they believed was a personal friendship or relationship.
We want to be clear, because it matters: Rick does not message members of the public privately. Neither does Marty, or anyone else from the search team. If someone claiming to be Rick has reached out to you directly, it is not him — no matter how real it feels.
The only thing we sell is the guided tram tour of Oak Island. We don't offer meet-and-greets, VIP packages, private access, or investment opportunities. If you're being offered any of that under our name, it isn't us.
We've put together a page explaining what to watch for, how to recognize a genuine message from us, and what to do if you've been targeted — including who to report it to. If something doesn't feel right, or you just want to check before sending anything, email us at [email protected]. We would always rather answer a question than see someone lose money to a scam using our name.
Please share this. It may reach someone who needs it.

What a summer it has been! Thank you to everyone who has joined us for a tour, visited the new Interpretive Centre or just came to take in a moment on the Island itself.
Here are a bunch of photos we've been sent from recent visitors. With exploration actively happening, you never know who you may meet!
There are limited tickets left in October, otherwise, tours are sold out for this year.

Although tours are sold out until October... we've added one on Wednesday August 5th! We're not sure if we will have any more Wednesday tours as the sun is setting earlier and earlier 🌰

Some of the best moments on Oak Island happen off the tram.
Last weekend we had the pleasure of guiding Marvin and Heidi Findeklee, who made the trip all the way from Germany to walk the island with us — and afterward they sent along these photos and a note that we had to share:
"We are still thrilled by the experience… a thank you and appreciation for the lovely encounters with our personal stars. Today we even ran into Laird Niven by chance at the Mug and Anchor and exchanged a few pleasant words. We hope you will soon be able to reap the rewards of your hard work."
The feeling is mutual, Marvin and Heidi. Thank you for making the journey, for the kind words about our guides, and for the reminder that the people drawn to this island's mystery have always been its real treasure.
The door's always open — come see us again soon.
