Punisher Waterfowl was established in 2014, with a goal of connecting to more hunters in the local area. We are not experts, guides, or professionals.

Today we are a group of friends that love one another's company. Punisher Waterfowl is an online waterfowl hunting content source, connecting duck and goose hunters all over Canada and the United States of America.

I’ve been hunting ducks for a long time… And I didn’t know this.

We all know the Canvasback. But do you know how it actually got its name?

Episode 279 with Jayden Bankes is available wherever you stream or listen to your podcast. Give it a listen, never know what you’ll learn.

After nearly 20 years in the Army, I learnt that you cannot be successful unless you have the right people helping you, so… I’m asking for your help.

Please check out www.punisherwaterfowl.com with a fine tooth comb and tell me what you would like to see.

Alright, I’ve got a question for the waterfowl hunters. What’s one piece of hunting gear that everybody seems to think you need… but you think is completely overrated? Calls? Expensive shotguns? $1,000 waders? Spinners? Whatever it is, put it in the comments. I want to hear this one.”

Essential or Overrated? We ask Phil Christian what piece of waterfowl gear is completely overrated?

Don’t let the short answer fool ya! Philly actually brings up a good point. Does the small details of today’s decoys make that much of a difference?

Where do you sit on Fully Flocked, detailed paint scheme, etc.

Simple question… “who is the most famous person you’ve hunted with?” Of course Jayden Bankes name drops the legend Ramsey Russell

When you know The Long Point area like the back of your hand, you’re bound to meet up with Waterfowl Royalty

This episode of is full of great stories, some lessons, and opinions.

You don’t want to miss this one.

I don’t know what I’m more jealous about!! Those that Josh and Ethan are rocking, or the fact that there is lots of water in Alberta.

If the temps stay warm… it could be a while before those ducks start making their way south.

Either way, it’s looking pretty damn good in the Duck Factory right now.

Memphis Made Me Do It

I went to Memphis for the DU Expo expecting to talk ducks, meet some people in the industry, shake a few hands, and hopefully come home with some new relationships.

Of course you all knew I was coming home with cowboy boots.

So…. when you’re in Memphis, you might as well do Memphis right.

So I made a stop at Tecovas Memphis and bought my first pair of cowboy boots. Thanks to Brian Halbleib and Elliott Snider for tagging along.

For this Canadian duck hunter who spends most of his time in hunting boots, this was definitely a little outside my normal lane. But that’s also what made this trip so much fun.

The DU Expo was about a lot more than just walking a show floor. It was meeting people I’ve talked to for years, putting faces to names, having a few drinks, telling some stories, and actually enjoying the experience.

And somewhere along the way… apparently I became a cowboy.

Memphis made me do it. 🤠

There’s something about show season that duck hunters love.

Sure, it’s a chance to catch up with people you haven’t seen since last season, talk ducks, tell a few lies and get fired up for September.

But let’s be serious…

We’re there to look at gear.

It’s our chance to actually get our hands on the new products we’ve been seeing online. Pick them up. Try them on. See how they work. And finally check out that piece of gear that’s been sitting in the back of our mind for the last six months.

Sometimes you walk away thinking, “Yep. I need that.”

Other times you realize you just saved yourself a couple hundred bucks.

Either way, that’s part of what makes show season so damn good.

Duck season might still be the main event…

But show season gets us fired up for it.

What’s the one piece of gear you’ve been wanting to see in person before pulling the trigger?
