Both of the kids raced this junior. Clara started out in it going 11.90 in 2015. Then the following year Daniel moved into it and Clara got another car and moved up to 8.90. This car has been hauled to too many races to count and was always in the trailer even when it wasn’t making a pass.
Today we said goodbye to it. We didn’t want to get rid of it but ultimately decided to as we heard people were looking and knew we had no use for it now. It was emotional for sure. However, we know it’s going to a kid who is going to love it and it will keep the sport alive!

We always say "we're not racing this season" for whatever reason. However, we have yet to actually stay away for a whole season 🙂
Half of the racing team (Aaron and Daniel) headed to Rimbey on Friday for our first run of the year!
The full sized car won't be out until the beginning of next year but we thought we'd take the junior for a couple runs!
After a breakout in the first round yesterday, we are ready for a win today!
Hopefully will be out to Edmonton and Medicine Hat as well before the season comes to a close!

So happy I get to be a part of this event every year!
The .4x4x48 raises money for and is helping to make a huge impact on type 1 diabetes research.
Being around a bunch of diabetics all weekend feels so great. Diabetes feels normal. Lows, highs, needles, pumps, and sensors are all common things we deal with. Sharing our own experiences with diabetes and our struggles with others that understand helps tremendously!
Thank you to Dr James Shapiro and his team for all of their amazing work! I hope one day I can say "I used to have diabetes" because if you guys!
Due to my ongoing health issues l'm not able to do much physical activity. So during this event I often feel like I'm not doing enough. I know this may not be a great way of looking at things but all I really want to to be able to complete this ultra marathon beside Jason.
I hope one day that can happen!

First and only race weekend for Layfield Family Racing and Dano placed second! If it weren’t for a 0.013 red light he would have taken first place. However, thats racing for you. We had an amazing time and it was great to see our Medicine Hat racing family again!
We regret to have to make this post again. However, our team will not be taking our cars out on the track again this year. We don’t have the big dragster ready and just have too much happening at the moment to think about racing. Instead we will post through social media and go to a few car shows throughout the season. We may not be out on the track but we will still be active!
