Really happy with this shield. This one is heavier than most ove made in the past. Its made of 3 laminated layers of 1/8th inch hard board instead of the standard plywood.

I decided to try making a sheath.
This one is a little bulky but it turned out really nice for my first attempt being fully self-taught.

This shield will be donated to the The Crossfield & Madden Food Bank and will be up for auction this Saturday, October 18th.
I was very proud to work on this piece, it has the structure to be used in Buhurt fights, however it is intended as a piece of artwork to be hung on display.
I am honored to be a part of helping my fellow Albertans with a piece that expresses pride in our beautiful Province.
Thanks to Shellie Exner-Murchie for her hard work painting this shield.

I made a heavy punching shield, now it's time for a light weight one.
This small shield coming in at around 2Lbs is ready for some fast punches. Made from 1/2" Oak plywood, canvas, and edge covered with jute fabric. This is a much more affordable alternative, and the customer will be painting it themselves.

My greatest work so far, this absolute monster of a coffin shaped punching shield for the Silver Gryphons, Calgary's HACSA - Historical Armored Combat Sports Association team.
This shield is made of 3/4" Oak plywood, 2 layers of canvas, and 2mm thick veg-tan leather edge. Weighing in at a whopping 6Lbs, and extending a full 12 inches past the wearers fist, you don't want to be on the receiving end of a punch from this thing.
