UPDATE: DNR did a search for the bird. They could not find it. We did three searches yesterday for the bird but couldn’t locate it. I’m worried that we won’t find it to put it out of its misery. We will look again today. If you see this bird, you’ll know. There’s line that goes into and out of its mouth and weights hanging from its belly. You’ll be able to get really close to it.

Tonight, my Tuesday night ladies and I tried to remove fishing line from this very lethargic cormorant. We couldn’t and will continue to try. As Leta said, if you fish, be aware. Every lure, every piece of line and ESPECIALLY every HOOK left behind can have a devastating outcome like this. We had to leave it be as we couldn’t get it to land as it was spooked but we are going to try again tomorrow. 4:00pm at my shop. If you have any knowledge on how to help or want to help out, we will be there finding our little friend. He or she has lines that wrap around their neck and beak and hang on to their chest with more than enough weights. I’m not against fishing BUT maybe…I am if you aren’t accountable.
