Today's Friday Feature comes from a game on this day in 2025 when Owen Boon pitched a complete game no-hitter for the Hamilton Cardinals of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL)!

On July 10, 2025, Owen Boon and the Hamilton Cardinals were in Kitchener to face the Panthers. Over 9 innings, Boon tossed 111 pitches, walking 3 and striking out 6. It was the IBL's first 9-inning no-hitter since Jesse Orosco's no-hitter for the Cambridge Terriers in 1977.

Boon went on to win the Ted Earley Memorial Trophy as the IBL's top pitcher, finishing off the season with a league-best 1.80 ERA.

When the IBL transformed into the pro Canadian Baseball League for the 2026 season, Boon re-signed with the Cardinals.

This jersey was worn by Boon during his no-hitter, and the ball was one of the pitches thrown in the game, both of which were donated along with the game-worn ballcap to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame collection. Hamilton Cardinals Professional Baseball Club
