🎉 10 Years of the Halifax MUSSELS! 🩷🏒

This year marks an incredible milestone: 10 years of the HALIFAX MUSSELS! What started as a small group with a vision of creating a safe, welcoming place to learn and play hockey has grown into an amazing community of players, coaches, officials, volunteers, families, and allies.

To celebrate our 10th season, we’re excited to introduce a new format that we hope will make hockey even more fun, welcoming, and accessible for everyone!

In addition to the weeknight league, our goal is for the weekend to become a complete player development pathway, from adults who are putting on skates for the very first time to those looking to continue building their skills, as well as our youth through the PQHL. Whether you’re a beginner or progressing to the next level, there will be a place for you to learn in a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.

📅 Registration opens July 18 during the Halifax Pride Parade and will remain open until the end of July.

Thank you to everyone who has helped make the past 10 years possible. Whether you’ve played, coached, volunteered, refereed, cheered from the stands, or supported us in any way; you’ve helped build something truly special.

That’s a wrap on another Skills & Drills season!

Wow — the turnout and interest in playing hockey with the Mussels continues to blow us away. Watching so many of you try something new, build confidence, make connections, and truly come out of your shells has been incredible.

We’re so proud of each and every one of you. Starting hockey can be intimidating, but you showed up, gave it a try, and grew so much along the way. That takes courage.

A huge thank you to all of our coaches for their time, patience, and guidance — this community doesn’t happen without you.

It’s hard to believe the Halifax Mussels started back in 2017. What started as an idea to create a safer, more welcoming place to play hockey has grown into something really special — and that’s because of all of you.

We’re excited to keep the momentum going with summer hockey starting next week and to celebrate together at our Awards Banquet on June 5th. 💙

The ***rhockey league’s Plovers skated away with a whopping 4-0 win over the Halifax Mussels in a game full of Plover milestones on Saturday morning - the rivalry continues! Always a pleasure, Plovers! 🐦‍⬛🦪

We were also excited to have 6 of our players join us on the ice and they absolutely brought everything they had. We had a blast sharing the ice with you ☺️
