Morning all.
As we wrap up our first season, I want to take a moment to reflect on what we've accomplished together. Despite the chaos and organizational challenges, we made it through. My apologies for the long post, but it is worth the read when you have the time.
A huge thank you to everyone who registered and participated this season, with 92 registrants we are well on our way to building something amazing for the youth in our community.
This season would not have been possible without the support of so many amazing volunteers and coaches, including the below that I relied on heavily:
• Terri McCreadie, for getting this whole process started.
• Dan LeBreton, for always being my sounding board throughout the planning and early phases of our season.
• Jaandi Roemer, for being my go-to at the fields and assisting in areas I was unable to.
• Graeme Duncan, for your guidance and support throughout the season.
• Wilf Newth & Rachelle Alexander, for your support with skill development.
• Juli Gilbeau, for capturing so many great moments through your photos (I know everyone is waiting on these, we have experienced some technical issues but they will be sent out ASAP).
• Andy Ferguson, for your continued support through Softball BC.
• Isabel Mckie, for taking over our social media and for being my biggest supporter, especially during the moments I felt overwhelmed.
A heartfelt thank you as well to all of our coaches, our sponsors, and the Kelowna Minor Fastball, Quesnel Minor Fastball, and Softball BC organizations that donated equipment to help make this season a success. Your generosity and dedication makes a lasting impact on our players.
A special shout-out to Trey at Signworks for generously donating our sponsorship banner, and Tyson with Graphicsman for his help with the shirts this year. We truly appreciate your support.
As we look ahead, our club's future depends on volunteers. At our upcoming AGM (date TBD), there will be several positions available including President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and general board members. I encourage parents to consider putting their names forward, as I will not be continuing in my role after this season. Your involvement is essential to the continued success of our organization, and we welcome anyone interested in helping shape its future.
Thank you again to everyone who contributed to our inaugural season. We're proud of what we've built together and can't wait to see what next season brings. If you have any questions or inquiries over the coming months, please reach out to this page, email us at '[email protected]', or get ahold of me direct, you all know where to find me.
Regards,
Brock Mitchell

As we wrap up the very first season of the Fort St. John Minor Fastball Association, we can't help but reflect on how far we've come in such a short time. After over 15 years without a league in Fort St. John, a dedicated group of volunteers came together to bring the sport back to our community. With a complete rebrand, a new executive, and a brand-new committee, we set out to rebuild something that many thought was gone for good—and what a successful first year it has been.
This season was built by an incredible community of players, coaches, families, volunteers, and sponsors. Every practice and game, every donation and late-night planning session was made possible by people who care deeply about our community's children and the game of fastball. To everyone who supported this association in any way—thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
Today, we'd like to recognize the people whose vision, dedication, and hard work helped make this comeback possible.
A special thank you to Brock Mitchell, alongside Terri McCreadie, Dan LeBreton, and the many other volunteers for helping bring fastball back to Fort St. John.
Long before there were teams on the field, these volunteers were working tirelessly behind the scenes to make this dream a reality. Countless hours were spent organizing, planning, securing sponsors, ordering equipment, coordinating coaches, building schedules, and tackling the endless list of challenges that come with building an association from the ground up.
While this comeback was truly a team effort, Brock's passion, determination, and commitment were the driving force behind it all. He didn't take on this challenge for recognition—he did it because of his love for the game and the belief that every youth in Fort St. John deserves the chance to be part of something bigger than themselves. More than a team, Brock, Terri and Dan created a community—a place where kids could build lasting friendships, learn valuable life lessons, support one another, and create memories that will stay with them forever.
The success of this season is a reflection of the dedication, sacrifice, and countless volunteer hours invested by everyone who helped along the way. Together, they didn't just start a league—they rebuilt a community. They created opportunities for young athletes, strengthened local fastball, brought families together, and created a place where players of all ages can learn, grow, compete, and belong.
To our coaches, families, volunteers, sponsors, and players—thank you for believing in this association and helping make our inaugural season such a success.
And to Brock, Terri, and Dan—thank you for taking the leap, putting in the work, and helping bring fastball back to Fort St. John. What you've built in one season is something truly special, and our community is better because of it.
Here's to a successful first season and many more to come.
⚾️ Fastball is a go tonight!
For anyone interested in playing, we’re on as scheduled. Participation is completely optional, so come out if you’d like to have some fun!
Looking forward to seeing everyone who can make it!
Coaches if weather continues to get worse please use discretion and call it if needed.
Thanks everybody!

To all our sponsors, on behalf of everyone at the Fort St.John Minor Fastball Association, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous donations, sponsorships and support throughout the 2026 season.
Because of sponsors like you, our athletes have the opportunity to step onto the field each season with the equipment, resources, as well as the support they need to learn, grow, and succeed. Your contribution helps make our program accessible to local families and allows us to continue providing a positive and enriching experience for every player.
Fastball is about so much more than the game itself. It teaches our youth confidence, teamwork, perseverance, sportsmanship, leadership, friendship and respect. It creates lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories, and a sense of belonging that extends far beyond the ball diamond.
Our association is proud to be a part of this community, and your support plays a vital role in helping us provide opportunities for children to develop not only as athletes but as individuals. Every practice, every game, every laugh in the dugout, and every lesson learned on the field is made possible through the generosity of community-minded partners like you.
Thank you for believing in our players, our families, and the value of youth sports. Your investment is an investment in the future of our community, and we are incredibly grateful for your continued support.
We are proud to have you as part of our fastball family and look forward to an exciting season together.
With sincere appreciation,
The Players, Families, Coaches, and Volunteers of the 2026 Minor Fastball Association
