🌲 Trail Building Day – Come Get Your Hands Dirty! 🚵‍♂️🛠️

Join us on Saturday, August 9 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM as we continue building Creston's trail network!

📍 Meet: Elsie Holmes Road
🚵 Work Location: We'll be working on Elsie in Wonderland, clearing and building a new bridge.

Getting there:
Ride to the top of Elsie in Wonderland (approximately 2 km), go past the flagging tape and "trail closed" sign —you'll find the crew from there.

What to bring:
🧤 Gloves
🔨 Hand tools (loppers, pruning saws, McLeods, Pulaskis, rogue hoes, rakes, shovels—if you have them)
💧 Plenty of water
👢 Sturdy footwear
🌞 Weather-appropriate clothing and sunscreen

No trail-building experience? No problem! Whether you're a seasoned digger or joining us for the first time, everyone is welcome. We'll show you what to do.

Every volunteer hour helps build and maintain the trails we all get to enjoy. Bring a friend and come be part of creating something lasting for the Creston Valley!

⚫ NEW TRAIL OPEN – UNCLE DUFF ⚫

The upper section Uncle Duff is officially open. This is an advanced black trail.

Built entirely by CVCA volunteers, Uncle Duff is a hand-built labour of love designed for experienced riders looking for speed, flow, and a little commitment.

📍 Access: 6 km up Huggard FSR
🚐 Shuttle access only – this is a downhill-only trail with no ride-up option. Plan your laps accordingly.

Ride within your limits, inspect features before hitting them, pre-ride, ride, re-ride.

A huge thank you goes out to the volunteers who spent countless hours digging, shaping, and moving dirt to bring another quality trail to the Creston Valley.

Many of our trails are located on private land, and landowners require the CVCA to carry insurance for the trail network. That insurance is funded primarily through memberships. Simply put, without members, we can't insure the trails—and without insurance, we can't keep trails like Uncle Duff open.

The Wynndel Mountain Bike Network is one of just 5 finalists for the Creston & District Credit Union Diamond Anniversary Community Grant!

CDCU is celebrating 75 years by awarding three $25,000 grants to local non-profits, and the winners will be chosen by CDCU members.

🚲 A $25,000 grant would help the Creston Valley Cycling Association continue building sustainable, professionally constructed trails at the Wynndel Mountain Bike Network—creating more opportunities for youth, families, and riders of all abilities to get outside and enjoy our local trails.
