The Georgian Bay Squall is scrubbing cars (in Speedos 😂) to fundraise our way to the **2027 World Aquatics Masters Championships in Budapest**! 🇭🇺

As reigning National Champs, we’re chasing the world stage…but Masters swimmers fund it all ourselves. Help us get there!

The Georgian Bay Squall made a splash at Gull Lake in Muskoka this past July 25–26, joining 800+ swimmers from across Ontario for a weekend of open water racing unlike anything you’ll find in a pool.

Competing in this event for only the third time as a club, our 27 swimmers, led by Head Coach Nancy Black, brought endurance, strategy, and grit to the water, and came home with medals and memories to match.

A special shoutout to Squall partner Janice Macdonald, who medaled in the 3km event less than two years after recovering from a broken collarbone. Janice, you’re proof of the healing power of sport. 💙

A huge shoutout to the incredible lifeguards at Collingwood Centennial Pool. You watch over our practices, our meets, and our community swims with skill, patience, and heart. We see you, we appreciate you, and we know our team wouldn’t be the same without you. Thank you for keeping us safe every single time we hit the water! 🙌

Let’s use this week to talk to our families about water safety, brush up on our own skills, and give a little extra thanks to the guards on the stand.

We took our splash to Collingwood Council chambers this week! 🏊‍♀️✨ Our team had the honour of presenting our 2025/2026 highlights to council…sharing not just what we’ve accomplished, but who we are. Because when the people making decisions know the people behind the lanes, great things happen. We closed it out the only way we know how: with our famous team cheer 📣 and a championship tee so they can wear our win too. We are grateful for a council that shows up for us - we’re showing up right back. 💙

We did it. 🏆✨

National Champions…but more than the title, it’s the journey that made this so special. This Collingwood based team is built on something bigger than swimming: genuine teamwork, boundless energy, and the kind of fun that makes you fall in love with the sport all over again.

Supporting and cheering each other on, in the water and out, is what sets this group apart. Every lane, every lap, every race was shared. So is this championship.

We also want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to for hosting us so wonderfully, to for their incredible support of our sport, and to every volunteer and official who dedicated their time and passion to making this event truly special. You are the backbone of our swimming community. 🙏

And of course thank you to our incredible coaching staff for your energy and dedication to getting us competition ready.
