Defending a small target was always going to be an uphill battle, but our bowling unit turned it into an absolute scrap, pushing the Chargers into the 20th over before they could seal it. After a tough loss last week, the boys bounced back in style with a convincing win over Panthers Smashers to record our second victory of the season.

It was a challenging evening with strong winds throughout the match, but our bowlers kept things under control. A big shoutout to Ovindu, Subash, and Buddhika for consistently applying pressure and never letting the opposition settle.

When it came time to chase, Supun had other plans. His blistering start put the game firmly in our hands, shifted the momentum early, and earned him a well-deserved Best Performer of the Match award.

We came up against table-toppers JCC and fell just short in a tight contest. The boys battled all the way to the final ball, but a few moments went against us.

Special congratulations to Buddhika Amal on an outstanding all-round performance in his second match of hard-ball career. Opening the bowling alongside our pace spearhead Yapa Janasinghe, he struck twice early and put JCC under pressure from the start. He then backed it up with a valuable 24 runs during the chase.

Unfortunately, a crucial run-out at a key stage changed the momentum of the game, and on another day the result could easily have gone our way.
