Meet the club's best-kept secret.
Monday at noon, Bedford Basin hosts the Polaris Block Match Racing; close, tactical, boat-for-boat racing with no time allowances.
The trophy itself has a wild history: it started life aboard the yacht Polaris, once owned by Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany, before being reworked into a trophy by Scottish artist Thomas MacKenzie and donated in 1978. Some of the world's top yacht clubs, including America's Cup skippers, have raced for it since.
BBYC is the defending Club of Record, facing challengers from the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron and Dartmouth Yacht Club.
No ticket needed, come down to the water and watch the action.

Day 1 of the Labour Day Regatta is in the books!
Mother Nature brought a sporty challenge; gusty winds, and did we mention the rain?
Only two boats made it to the finish:
π₯ Steve Adams β Vortex II β 1st, B Class
π₯ Tyson Hynes β Hot Spur β 2nd, B Class (solo sailor β amazing right?!)
Day 2 continues the race for the Hynes Trophy, stay tuned!

Thank you, ARK volunteers!
ARK Regatta doesn't happen without the 70+ volunteers who showed up all weekend on the race course, at registration, and on shore keeping everything running.
Special thanks to David Roy, who organized the event from the ground up, and Paula Minnikin , who coordinated all activities on the water. And to every volunteer who gave their time β you are the heart of this club.
We're also grateful to our sponsors, whose support makes ARK possible year after year: Sunnybrook Yachts , Aerotec Engines Limited , The Binnacle , and Earthcraft. Thank you for backing one of BBYC beloved sailing traditions.

What a weekend on the Basin!
The 2026 ARK Regatta was bigger than last year, 120+ sailors, six fleets, and the RS21s joining the lineup for the first time. Bedford Basin put on a show, and so did our sailors.
