OFFICIAL COMMUNICATION- MEDALS AND RESULTS

The Rabbit Prizes were awarded to the Top 5 athletes in the designated prize categories, in accordance with the competition arrangements.

Due to a power outage during the competition, the electronic timing system was interrupted, resulting in a transition between electronic timing and hand timing.

This affected the accuracy of some results, particularly the first events on the programme, where certain Top 3 positions are still undergoing verification.

Finalized results will be emailed out today, together with an official communication regarding the medal positions.

We kindly ask all athletes, parents, coaches and clubs to review the results once received and allow the verification process to be completed.

Our priority is to ensure that the final results are accurate, fair and transparent before all medal positions are officially confirmed.

Since 2019, Botswana’s school sports system has been largely inactive, leaving a significant gap in the athlete development pathway. As a product of school sports myself, I understand the importance of having a platform where young talent can be identified, developed, and given opportunities to compete.

The United Youth Athletics League (UYAL) was created to help rebuild this pathway by bringing together public school athletes, private school athletes, out-of-school athletes, and Paralympic athletes in one inclusive and structured competition environment.

Sanctioned by the Botswana Athletics Association, UYAL is conducted under international athletics standards, providing young athletes with a professional platform to develop and showcase their talent.

Following a successful Series on 18 April 2026, which attracted 350 athletes, including participants from Zimbabwe, UYAL returns on 22 August 2026 to continue supporting the next generation of athletes as they prepare for major competitions, including the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026.

UYAL is more than a competition—it is a movement to discover talent, develop character and inspire Botswana’s future champions.

UYAL Series 3 presents the perfect competition opportunity for athletes preparing for the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, offering high-level race tuning and competitive preparation.

We warmly invite athletes and teams from across Africa to be part of this exciting event and experience elite youth athletics competition in Botswana.

We are also open to partnerships and sponsorship opportunities. Together, we can create stronger pathways, better opportunities, and a brighter future for the next generation of African youth athletes.
