Belgian Defence Nijmegen Team

Today on the Four Days of the Yzer we honoured the fallen of the First World War by laying a wreath at the German cemetery of Vladslo. The playing of "Ich hatte ein Kameraden" was particularly poignant.

Congratulations to all our team members and followers who finished the yesterday!!

The teams finished the march... and they get the glory. But we should not forget the most important people of the journey: the support team!!! They are awake before we are to be on the road, to set up the points long before we start marching. In rain or sunshine, they adapt, they improvise, they overcome and have a solution for everything! Their support, both material and spiritual is invaluable for us to succeed.
And so I ask everybody here to help me give a big virtual round of applause to Thilo, Thorsten, Justin, our two nurses Vicky and Mette and the gang from Leebach for an amazing job on the road this week.
You guys arr the best! We could not have done it without you!

WE DID IT!!!!
Both Belgian Teams sucessfully finished the 108th Nijmegen marches yesterday!!!
We take home a few blisters and sore feet but above all great memories, new friends and an undescribable feeling of pride of having finished the Walk of the World!!
Now it's time to rest...
.. 361 days untill we can do it all again!

Marching is also remembering.
And as over the last days we remembered the fallen of yesterday, at the Oversteek, the Lancaster site of Beuningen and Pvt Holmes in Mook, today our thoughts go out to our marching friends from Czechia, who lost a comrade in arms yesterday.
