Background History of the Organization: About ten percent of our population are suffering from some kind of challenge and disability. If they are properly educated and trained, can substantially contribute instead of burden to the society.In developed countries the Government takes all responsibilities for their education, training and rehabilitation.Bangladesh Government has also taken many initiatives to improve the quality of life of these challenged group of people including Autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities.In Bangladesh we have a good number of Organizations working at various fields of disability but there is hardly a few quality organizations working exclusively for children with autism and most of them are at capital city-Dhaka. At this background a good number of parents of children with autism of Chittagong city started NISHPAP AUTISM FOUNDATION(former Autistic Children Development and Welfare Centre)-a not for profit, registered nongovernment voluntary organization aiming to train and educate the children with autism ,to perform their maximum strengths and interest and making them able to support themselves., to help them for enrollment in mainstream. Nishpap Autism Foundation, Chittagong, started it's journey since 2nd April 2010.Running with donation from broad hearted persons of our society & from individual membership of our foundation.NAF works to ensure positive attitude among society towards individuals with Autism spectrum & other Neurodevelopmental Disorders, to hold up their rights by meaningful participation, communication, education, & informations.The activities are aimed at education,inclusion,employment, advocacy, research,icreaseing awareness about the day -to-day issues faced by individuals with Autism spectrum Disorders (ASD) & their families. Provides a range of services to support, advocate, help, educate and guide families who have a family member with Autism as well as the greater community. Individual and group therapy, early interventional therapy, Professional Development, Support Groups, Social Groups, Parent Workshops and lots more. The activities of NISHPAP AUTISM FOUNDATION:
1.Nishpap Autism School ( two sift- Morning/Day). Now there are more than 60 students of ASD & related disorders
2.Diagnosis & assessment of ASD & related disorders with early intervention therapy
3.Parents,caregiver & teachers training .
4.Awareness program -round the year & celebration of WAAD on 2nd April
5.Vocational Training.
6.Occupational therapy, speech language therapy,Sensorry integration therapy( indoor & outdoor service)
7.Arrangement of seminar, conferences , workshop & hands on training round the year
8.Helps the parents via different information's, advise & awareness .
9.Coordination & attachment with different Government & non Government organizations working for ASD & oNDDs
10.Nishpap Autism Foundation also involved with related research work; & also a place of resource centre for training of different groups of trainee on ASD. VISION: A supportive social environment where individuals with Autism Spectrum are understood and accepted. MISSION: Empowerment persons with autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities and their families.To positively impact and influence children and young adults with Autism in their social and emotional development
