Calling All Chess Players at the University of Chittagong!

According to the tentative Inter-University Sports Calendar for the 2026–27 season, the Inter-University Chess Competition is expected to be held in the third week of September 2026.

To help students prepare, the Chittagong University Chess Club plans to organize practice sessions and preparatory tournaments. These activities will allow interested students to improve their chess skills, gain competitive experience, and prepare for the university team selection process.

All University of Chittagong students interested in representing the university are encouraged to participate and begin their preparation.

Expected time: Third week of September 2026
Proposed host: National University
Alternative venue: Jagannath University

Further details regarding practice sessions, preparatory tournaments, registration, and selection will be announced soon.

A Proud Moment for Chittagong University Chess Club

Chittagong University Chess Club has been tirelessly working to promote and develop the culture of chess on our campus. Throughout this journey, we have successfully organized two International Chess Tournaments and continue our commitment to fostering chess among students and the wider community.

আন্তঃবিশ্ববিদ্যালয় বিভিন্ন প্রতিযোগিতায় পদকপ্রাপ্ত ও সাফল্য অর্জনকারী খেলোয়াড়দের সংবর্ধনা দিয়েছে চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের (চবি) শারীরিক শিক্ষা বিভাগ।

বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় জিমনেসিয়ামে আয়োজিত এই সংবর্ধনা অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন চবি উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. মোহাম্মদ আল্-ফোরকান।
বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপ-উপাচার্য (একাডেমিক) প্রফেসর ড. মোহাম্মদ আল-আমীন। অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতিত্ব করেন উপ-উপাচার্য (প্রশাসন) ও চবি ক্রীড়া উপদেষ্টা কমিটির সভাপতি প্রফেসর ড. মোহাম্মদ শফিকুল ইসলাম।

প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে চবি উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. মোহাম্মদ আল্-ফোরকান বলেন,"সাধারণত বিভিন্ন অনুষ্ঠানে অতিথিরা খেলোয়াড়দের হাতে ট্রফি বা পুরস্কার তুলে দেন। তবে আজ আমাদের খেলোয়াড়েরা নিজেরাই বিজয় ছিনিয়ে এনে আমাদের সামনে ট্রফি তুলে ধরেছে। এই মুহূর্তটি এবং এই অর্জন পুরো চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় পরিবারের জন্য অত্যন্ত গৌরবের ও আনন্দের। আমি আশাবাদ ব্যক্ত করছি, আমাদের এই খেলোয়াড়েরা ভবিষ্যতেও আন্তর্জাতিক অঙ্গনে আমাদের প্রতিনিধিত্ব করবে।"

অনুষ্ঠানে স্বাগত বক্তব্য রাখেন চবি শারীরিক শিক্ষা বিভাগের পরিচালক মো. হাবিবুর রহমান জালাল।

এছাড়াও অনুষ্ঠানে শারীরিক শিক্ষা ও স্পোর্টস সায়েন্স বিভাগের সম্মানিত শিক্ষক, প্রশিক্ষক এবং কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীবৃন্দ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশ নেওয়া ১৪টি ইভেন্টের প্রতিটি ইভেন্ট থেকেই চবি খেলোয়াড়েরা পুরস্কার অর্জন করেছেন এবং সংবর্ধনা অনুষ্ঠানে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে কর্তৃপক্ষের হাতে ট্রফি তুলে দেন। আয়োজনে সংবর্ধিত সকল অ্যাথলেট ও ইভেন্টের প্রতিনিধিত্ব করে অনুভূতি প্রকাশের অনন্য সম্মান লাভ করেন চবি দাবা ক্লাবের সভাপতি তানজিলা তুর নুর।
বক্তব্য প্রদানকালে এই স্বীকৃতিকে খেলোয়াড়দের কঠোর পরিশ্রমের সেরা মূল্যায়ন হিসেবে উল্লেখ করেন। তিনি আরও বলেন, "আমাদের এই অভূতপূর্ব সাফল্যের পেছনে শারীরিক শিক্ষা বিভাগের পরিচালক ,শিক্ষক-প্রশিক্ষক ও কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীদের অক্লান্ত পরিশ্রম, ভালোবাসা এবং আন্তরিকতা অনন্য ভূমিকা রেখেছে।"

আলোচনা সভা শেষে বিজয়ী খেলোয়াড়দের হাতে সম্মাননা স্মারক তুলে দেওয়া হয়।

চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় (চবি) দাবা ক্লাবের উদ্যোগে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়ে গেল ‘এলিট দাবা প্রতিযোগিতা ২০২৬’। আজ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শারীরিক শিক্ষা ও স্পোর্টস সাইন্স বিভাগের ২০৫ নম্বর কক্ষে এই প্রতিযোগিতা ও পুরস্কার বিতরণী অনুষ্ঠান সম্পন্ন হয়।

এই টুর্নামেন্টে চ্যাম্পিয়ন হওয়ার গৌরব অর্জন করেছেন তাহসিন ওয়াসিফ। এতে ১ম রানার আপ হয়েছেন হাফিজুল আলম নয়ন এবং ২য় রানার আপ হওয়ার কৃতিত্ব অর্জন করেছেন মো. ফাহাদ। এছাড়া টুর্নামেন্টে চতুর্থ স্থান অধিকার করেন হুমায়ুন কবির।
প্রতিযোগিতার সমাপনী ও পুরস্কার বিতরণী অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত থেকে বিজয়ীদের হাতে পুরস্কার তুলে দেন চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শারীরিক শিক্ষা ও স্পোর্টস সাইন্স বিভাগের সম্মানিত প্রভাষক এবং চাকসু (CUCSU)-র সহকারী পরিচালক মো. নোমান।
পুরস্কার বিতরণকালে তিনি বলেন:
"চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে দাবার উন্মেষ ঘটিয়েছে চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় দাবা ক্লাব।একজন ক্রীড়াপ্রেমী হিসেবে এই মেধাবিকাশমূলক খেলাকে চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ছড়িয়ে দেওয়ার পেছনে জড়িত সকল আয়োজক ও সংশ্লিষ্ট সকলকে আমি আন্তরিক ধন্যবাদ জানাচ্ছি। সেই সাথে টুর্নামেন্টের বিজয়ী এবং অংশগ্রহণকারী সকল খেলোয়াড়কে অসংখ্য ধন্যবাদ।"
