SO WHAT IS ‘STREET JIU JITSU’❓

* 1 vs 1 “Death Match”
* Matching Under 70kg/70-80kg/80-90kg/90-100kg/100kg+ Matches.
* 6min Round
* Street clothing only.
* Match begins under RGS Elite Sub-Only rules.
* When the RGS Ref drops the prop weapon(s) (🔪 🔫) the match instantly switches to ‘Street Jiu Jitsu’ rules:
- Open hand and Palm Strikes to downed opponent
- All submissions legal
- Use of clothing to submit
- Use of prop weapon(s)
- Match ends via Sub, TKO due to strikes, Ref stoppage due to damage or “Fatal” wound with prop weapon.

‼️Street Jiu Jitsu matches will wrap up RGS Spring Cup, long after all Junior & Teen divisions have finished, ensuring that there is ample time for parents not wanting their children exposed to these matches to depart‼️

🔫 Street Jiu Jitsu Absolute Division:
- Open to all ranks & weights
- Advanced Sub Only Ruleset
- Street Clothes can be worn e.g. Suits, Shirts, Pants, etc.
- No time limit
- Match begins under RGS Advanced Sub-Only rulesets, Ref will drop a prop 🔪 or 🔫 on the mat, match immediately switches to “Street Rules” w/ Palm Strikes and use of prop weapon.
- Match is won either by Sub, TKO, Ref stoppage due to excess damage or causing a “fatal” wound with prop weapon.
‼️NOTE: This division will be at the very end of the competition for those not wanting to spectate. All kids & teens divisions will be completed long before these matches begin.

Massive shoutout to all of our officials, volunteers, caterers, set up crews & pack down crews for making RGS what it is 🙏 Team work continues to make the dream work & we appreciate every single one of you.

Thank you to the vendors for coming along and giving the competitors & spectators something fun to do throughout the day. We are looking to expand on this for all future competitions.

RGS was created out of a need & focus to provide opportunity for local teams to participate in a fun, exciting, professional & affordable competition experience, while also giving the spectators a comfortable and enjoyable day. Each competition we learn from & will continue to improve to give everyone a better experience every time.

👨‍⚕️ The Doctor of Combat will be offering taping, injury management advice & recovery assistance to make sure you hit the mats ready to go and stay as healthy as possible.

💪 will also be in the house as always, keeping our competitors hydrated and offering the best advice on supplement support in CQ

And techniques that can lead to legitimate submissions finishes;

There was a time not long ago where leg locks were considered “The Dirty Joker” and one of the greats Marcelo Garcia even had shoes 👟 thrown at him at the ADCC because he heel hooked Ricco Rodriguez, because it was seen as “Disrespectful” 😂

The beauty of BJJ is that’s it’s ever evolving, so the key is to either evolve or die 💀
