From early morning games, to boundary cheering, snack packing, scoring, chauffeuring and emotional support when it doesn’t go to plan— we couldn’t do it without you.

A huge congratulations to Katie Martin, the Southern Swans 2025/26 Player of the Year!
Katie has had a fantastic season, making a standout contribution with the bat, including the Southern Swans’ highest-ever score of 93. Her hard work off the field has clearly paid off in her performances on it. She quietly goes about her role and is a highly valued member of the team. Congratulations, Katie!

Congratulations to Ella Yates on winning the Players’ Player award. This award is voted by the players after each game day performance.

Congratulations to Sally Ryan on being awarded the 2025/26 Spirit of Cricket Award. Throughout the season, Sally has demonstrated outstanding commitment, consistently bringing energy and enthusiasm to both training sessions and match days. Her dedication has seen her become a reliable opening bowler, taking an impressive 12 wickets this season.

Congratulations to Nandana Jagarlamudi on winning bowler of the year with 13 wickets @ 10.38.

Congratulations to Katie Martin on winning batter of the year. She had a fantastic season with the bat scoring 260 runs @ 26 with a highest score of 93.

The Southern Swans Cricket Club celebrated its 2025/26 season presentation today at our valued sponsor, the Lake Illawarra Hotel. It was a fantastic opportunity to come together, reflect on the season, and recognise the achievements of our players.

Congratulations to all our players on a wonderful season. It was especially great to welcome new members to the team, and to see every player have their moment to shine throughout the year—there was certainly plenty to celebrate.

A sincere thank you to our coaches, Aaron and Shane, for their dedication, effort, and commitment. Your contribution to the team is greatly appreciated.

We also extend our thanks to everyone who helped throughout the season—those who assisted with scoring, set-up, and pack-down, as well as our committee members who work hard behind the scenes to ensure we can take the field each week. To our generous sponsors, thank you for your support; without you, it wouldn’t be possible for these girls to play the game they love.

A special thank you to our parents for your ongoing support in getting the girls to training and games. We know the travel can be significant for many families, and your commitment does not go unnoticed.

Finally, thank you to our players. Your passion, dedication, and love for the game are inspiring. It has been a pleasure to watch your growth this season—not only in cricket skills, but also in the friendships you’ve built along the way.

A strong showing from our Southern Swans in the Greater Illawarra Representative Open Women’s competition tonight, with Illawarra facing South Coast under lights at Dalton Park.

Representing Illawarra were Sharlysse Biela, Nicola Hudson, Sally Ryan, Amelia Valdez, Cadence Waters and Ella Yates, while Farrah Cody, Kiana Dovern, Nandana Jagarlamudi and Ebony Winston lined up for South Coast.

Playing on turf under lights was a fantastic experience for all. Illawarra claimed the win, and although it was all competitive on the field, there were plenty of smiles and laughs shared once the game was done.

Today we celebrate the incredible women and girls who make Southern Swans Cricket Club what it is.

In a sport that has traditionally been male-dominated, we are proud to be building a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where female cricketers can belong, develop and succeed.

In just a few short years, our players have shown what’s possible when opportunity meets belief — achieving success on the field while growing a strong, connected cricket community.

A huge thank you to all the amazing women in our club — our players, supporters, scorers, volunteers and families — who give their time, energy and passion to help our club thrive.

We are proud of how far we’ve come, but we also recognise there is still a long way to go in a world where women don’t always have the same opportunities in sport and life.

Today we celebrate progress, continue to push for change, and remain committed to creating pathways for the next generation of female cricketers.
