The closing of squash courts across metropolitan areas is a lamentable but familiar story in the more recent history of the game in Australia.
So it is sad but not altogether surprising to report that the news came through today that the Caulfield Park Squash Centre; home to the Gordon Watson Squash Club until 1979; from where Gordon trained 21 Australian title holders; has closed its doors and been sold off to property developers.
