Bronte Matthews swims 28.7km in honour of her late friend raising more than $44,000 for the Yellow Freesia Foundation
Entering the water before dawn at Duranbah Beach and swimming 28.7 kilometres along the full length of the Gold Coast coastline - finishing at The Spit, Southport Seaway, 10 hours and 15 minutes later.

On 21 February, Greg Gibson and Sharon Crisafi completed the inaugural swim from Stanwell Park to Wollongong (Belmore Basin), marking the first successful swim of this course under Marathon Swimming Australia (MSA) rules.
