🔊 Rodney & Jem’s Aussie Sidecar Story 🔊
This is the second part of Rodney Anshaw’s story, picking up the journey in 2019 when your host Jem joined him on track.
The return to racing was not as smooth as Rodney would have liked, but that is the nature of historic racing when parts get harder to find and the outfit had been sitting in the shed for almost two decades.
This episode covers off some of the stories that have been referenced in previous episodes, including our excursion into a fence at The Big Chill, my broken hand at the Queensland Historic Titles and more.

Talking with Rodney (dad), and knowing some of the other passionate sidecar people who are collectors, got me wondering... Who has the biggest sidecar collection you know?
Rodney has four, because I am happy to count the chair that currently isn't attached to a bike at the moment. He has two historic road race, and two road ride outfits.
.. Burnt Rebels Racing and Team Thompson Racing , I expect some honest answers from you guys 🤣, let's see if anyone can top you?

🔊 Rodney's Aussie Sidecar Story 🔊
We often end up talking about who inspired guests to get involved with sidecars. For me it was my dad, Rodney Anshaw, and this is his story.
Rodney started out with a road registered sidecar that he shares a few stories about, then we delve into his transition into historic road racing and the journey that was building his 1962 Norton Atlas outfit.
We sit down in the shed to chat about all the thrills and spills of his time racing three wheels, as well as the mateship and rivalries that was historic sidecar racing in the 90’s in New South Wales.

Driving through Heddon Greta, I always smile seeing this on the side of a take away in town. It has been there for as long as I can remember, but I would love to know if anyone has a year on it!
