A very effective clip and message… a great initiative from the Greenacre Tigers Junior Rugby League Football Club!

Watching games all day, we hear these comments in every game… and if it’s not about the kids, it’s about the referees, or even the volunteers!!! If anyone wants to spend a day with us on the sidelines, come and experience it, it’ll make you think twice about how hurtful words can actually be! Junior Bulldogs

Here’s the draw for this upcoming weekend!

Raffles duties this Saturday at Panania Diggers are the u10 LeagueTag sides, and then on Sunday at Picnic Point Bowling Club we have the u11’s hosting.

Please take note of the previous post on this page regarding referee abuse, and know that we, as a club will not tolerate it! Remember too, if a parent, team official etc. gets charged and suspended, so do their children!!!

Have a great weekend, and 😇

• A MESSAGE FROM THE REFEREES •

This year we have welcomed 30 new referees, the largest intake in our association's history. While this is a fantastic achievement, these officials are still developing their skills and gaining valuable game experience. As with all participants, mistakes are part of the learning process.

Many of our competitions are participation-focused and provide an ideal environment for young referees to build confidence and develop without criticism from the sidelines. We ask all clubs to remind their members that referee abuse, negative comments and ongoing criticism are not acceptable.

Any concerns regarding officiating should be raised through your club and addressed through the appropriate Junior League channels. Referees should not be approached or confronted directly.

Our referees are essential to the game. By showing patience, respect and support, we can help create a positive environment for everyone involved.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Thanks,
Daniel Gardner
Hon. Secretary
Canterbury-Bankstown District Rugby League Referees Association
