Community Spirit Shield 2025

What a great twilight carnival rescheduled from last weekend.

It was wonderful to share the pool with teams from Nundah Sharks, Electric Eels Swimming Club and United Swimming Club.

Such a close finish with just 8 points between 1st & 3rd.

Congratulations Virginia Dolphins on a tight win!

A special congratulations to our Girls 13-18years Medley Relay team who set a new record!

What a fabulous day!
Congratulations Virginia Dolphins on a very close win in The Mole Trophy. 🏆
Just a matter of a few points that proved the importance of every swimmer just getting in there and having a swim!
Thank you for a wonderful afternoon Nundah Sharks, Electric Eels Swimming Club and our lovely hosts, Somerset Hills Seals Swimming Club.

It was great to see so many swimmers getting in and giving it a go. Special mention to our youngest swimmers swimming some events for the very first time and to our senior swimmers who made all the difference in points.

Thank you to the parents who volunteered to timekeep, referee and marshal swimmers - we appreciate you!

Congratulations to all the Virginia Dolphins swimmers heading to the Queensland State Championships next week! Alice Berry, Byron Berry, Tom Crunkhorn, Willow Bone, Bryce Easton, Patience Flynn, Zander Galvin, Noah Lindner, and Liam Young have all worked incredibly hard, putting in countless hours of training to qualify for this prestigious event.
Competing against Queensland’s best swimmers, as well as talent from across Australia and around the world, is no small feat.

The Queensland State Championships are one of the toughest senior swim events in Australia, second only to Nationals, and these swimmers have earned their spot through sheer dedication.

Virginia Dolphins are extremely proud of these athletes. Most of them started with just 12–25 meter swims on Friday nights years ago, and to see how far they’ve come is truly inspiring.

A special shout out to our incredible swim coach, Chanaka Malimbada Without your unwavering inspiration, dedication, and coaching skills, our kids would not be as focused or committed as they are today. You've not only taught them the strokes but also instilled in them the values of hard work, perseverance, and the drive to push beyond their limits. We are truly grateful for your guidance, and the success these swimmers are achieving is a direct reflection of your exceptional coaching. Thank you for all that you do!

Your commitment and hard work will not go unnoticed. Best of luck to all of you next week—swim your best!

HUGE Thank you Councillor Adam Allan for donating a new shade gazeebo for the Virginia Dolphins. We put it to good use at the Salisbury Open Invitational Carnival on Saturday.

Thanks to Councillor Adam and Leanne Linard MP for joining us and for your raffle donations too.

Thank you to all our volunteers without whom these events would not be possible.

Thank you to our visiting clubs Somerset Hills Seals Swimming Club, Aspley Swimming Club, & Electric Eels Swimming Club.
We hope you and your swimmers had as much fun as we did! It was such a joy to see so many kids getting in and swimming for fun 🤩
We look forward to next year and another fun carnival.
