Speed Zone Roller Sports Club, Inline Speed Skating

Welcome to the home of Speed Zone Roller Sports club. Speed Zone is an Inline Speed Skating club located in South East Queenland.
A number of state and national champions call Speedzone home. Speed skaters train and race either indoors (track) or outdoors (road). Events contested range from 200m individual time trials to a variety of short sprint races, to middle distance races like the 5000m extending right through to the ultimate race, a 42km marathon. This is our official information page for the public.

Club president, Liz Quince was our third team member who competed in the PPSS 2026 Roller Sports Showcase. Liz skated in the Master Women's 30+ category. After some tight contests, Liz finished the competition with 5 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal and was awarded overall champion for the category. Well done to all Speedzone competitors who raced in the showcase. Thankyou to those club members who came out and supported Win, Andrew and Liz, it was greatly appreciated.

Speedzone's inaugural life member, Andrew Tieken also contested the PPSS 2026 Roller Sports Showcase. Andrew has recently returned to the competition arena and has picked up where he left off. Andrew dominated the Master men's 60+ category taking home 6 gold medals. Congratulations on a tremendous weekend of racing Andrew, we are very proud of your achievements.

Life Member Winston Hughes recently participated in the 2026 Skatebag/Skate Australia, Brisbane Roller Sports Showcase. At 85 years young, Win contested the Master Men's 60+ race category. He did an outstanding job rounding out the weekend with one silver and four bronze medals. He also improved his times for the flying one lap indoor and the 100m sprint outdoor. Congratulations Win, we are very proud of your efforts! We love having you back out on the race track with us. You are an inspiration to us all.
