Most women over 40 have been taught that fat loss comes from doing more cardio.
More walking. More classes. More sweating. More calories burned.
But after 40, one of the most important things you can do is maintain muscle.
Muscle helps:
âś” Support metabolism
âś” Improve insulin sensitivity
âś” Improve body composition
âś” Keep you strong as you age
The goal isn't just to lose weight.
The goal is to lose fat while keeping (or building) muscle.
That's why a woman who strength trains often looks completely different to someone the same weight who doesn't.
If you're spending hours trying to burn calories but never prioritising strength training, you're probably making things harder than they need to be.
I just put together a free guide: The 7 Mistakes Women Over 40 Make That Keep Them From Getting Strong, Healthy & Lean.
Comment STRONG and I'll send it to you.

Truth:
Fat loss comes from a calorie deficit, not cardio specifically.
Cardio can absolutely help by increasing energy expenditure and improving fitness, heart health, and endurance… but it’s not mandatory for fat loss.
What actually matters most:
- your nutrition
- your daily movement
- your consistency
- and building/maintaining muscle through strength training
Because here’s what happens to a lot of women:
They spend hours doing cardio trying to “burn off” calories, while ignoring the things that actually create long-term results.
Strength training helps you build muscle, which supports metabolism, strength, bone health, and body composition.
Daily movement (walking, steps, staying active) is often more impactful and sustainable than smashing yourself with endless HIIT sessions.
And nutrition?
That’s the foundation.
You can’t out-train poor eating habits with cardio.
Do cardio because you enjoy it.
Do it for fitness, health, endurance, mental health, or performance.
But stop thinking you have to punish yourself with hours of cardio just to lose fat.

Lately I’ve had a lot of conversations with women who feel like they’ve completely lost their routine.
They’re tired.
They feel out of shape.
They don’t recognise themselves in their own body anymore.
And the hardest part?
They don’t even know where to start.
If that’s you, you’re not alone. I see this all the time.
This is exactly why I’m opening up a few spots for a Strong Start phase both in person and online.
This is for you if:
– You feel like your fitness has taken a back seat the past few years
– You want to feel strong again (not just “lose weight”)
– You’re ready to be consistent, but need structure and guidance
We’ll focus on:
Building strength
Improving energy
Creating a routine that actually fits your life
No extremes. No pressure. Just a clear starting point and support.
I have last 2 private in-person coaching spots available in my studio, and 3 spots for online coaching for those who can’t train with me face-to-face.
If you’ve been thinking about getting back into it, this is your sign.
DM me “START” and I’ll tell you if it’s a good fit.

Most women aren’t stuck…
They’re just 👇
Training too light
Changing programs every week
Avoiding anything that feels hard
And then wondering why nothing changes.
Progress doesn’t come from:
❌ Random workouts
❌ Sweating more
❌ “Feeling the burn”
It comes from:
âś” Progressively getting stronger
âś” Repeating the basics
âś” Actually challenging yourself
You don’t need more workouts.
You need a better approach.
If this hit a nerve, it’s probably what you needed to hear.

MONDAY CHECK-IN đź’¬
Not “I’ll start next week.” Not “when life calms down.”
This is the week.
You don’t need a perfect plan. You don’t need more motivation. You need a decision, and one small action to back it up.
Because here’s the truth: The women who build strength, confidence, and consistency…
aren’t the ones who feel ready.
They’re the ones who show up anyway.
So let’s keep it simple today:
✔️ Move your body
✔️ Eat like someone who respects herself
✔️ Keep the promises you make to yourself
That’s it.
No extremes. No punishment. No starting over.
Just momentum.
Drop a ✅ below once you’ve done something for YOU today.

Most women are never told this.
We focus on weight loss, cardio, and getting “smaller”… while slowly losing the one thing that actually protects our body long-term: muscle.
From your 30s, that loss starts happening in the background. By the time it feels noticeable, a lot has already been lost.
The good news? You can absolutely fight back.
Lift heavy.
Eat enough protein.
Train with intention.
Your future self will thank you.
