🏆 A PERFORMANCE WORTH LOOKING BACK ON! 🐆💛🖤

A little late, but this one definitely deserves to be remembered!

Western Jaguars Gold produced a fantastic all-round team performance in our 19th Division a match against Macquarie University Cricket Club at Greystanes Sportsground, coming away with a convincing 6-wicket victory.

After winning the toss, Macquarie University elected to bat first, putting our bowling attack straight to work.

And our boys responded brilliantly. 🎯

The bowling unit kept things tight throughout the innings, restricting the opposition to 116 runs.

🔥 Muhammad Ahmad Ferozi led the way with an outstanding spell, taking 2 wickets for just 7 runs in 4.1 overs.

But a special mention has to go to Lovepreet Bhai, who produced an incredible spell of bowling:

That’s the kind of spell that puts the entire opposition under pressure!

Sarat bhai also picked up 2 wickets for just 8 runs, while Sajjan bhai and Syed Labeeb Jilani chipped in with wickets to make sure Macquarie University couldn’t build any big partnerships.

With the opposition restricted to 116, the Jaguars needed 117 to win. And what better way to start the chase than with an explosive opening partnership!

Arun’s aggressive innings gave us exactly the start we needed and put the opposition on the back foot from the beginning.

Ahmad once again showed his ability to change the game with both bat and ball.

👏 Sarat bhai added a valuable 28 from 23 balls, including 3 fours and a six, ensuring the chase stayed under control.

🐆 A Match to Remember | Western Jaguars Gold Team

A little late, but this one deserves to be remembered! 🏏💚

It was a challenging week for the Western Jaguars Gold, with the team struggling to get enough players for the match. In a special request to help the team, Madhu Sudhan Chelur Suresh Madhusudhan Suresh stepped in and joined us.

What followed was something very special. 🔥

Madhu played the best innings of his cricketing career, smashing 74 runs from just 45 balls, with 4 fours and 7 sixes. 💥

He was simply unstoppable. At one stage, the opposition had no idea where to bowl to him. He was hitting the ball all around the ground, finding boundaries in every direction and making batting look effortless.

And he wasn’t done there. Madhu also picked up 1 wicket, completing an outstanding all-round performance and earning himself a well-deserved Man of the Match award. 🏆

But this was far from a one-man show. It was a fantastic team batting performance.

🔥 Arun Nayak played an absolute blinder. Coming in and immediately taking on the opposition’s best bowler, Arun smashed 44 runs from just 16 balls at one stage, making the bowler wonder, “Where has this batsman come from?” 😄

He continued his aggressive batting and finished with a brilliant 79 off just 35 balls*, including 11 fours and 3 sixes. A knock full of confidence, intent and some fantastic cricket shots. 👏

⭐ Ahmad Ferozi Muhammad Ahmad Ferozi also had a day to remember, scoring his first-ever half-century, finishing with an excellent 56 off 38 balls, including 5 fours and 4 sixes.

It was a special milestone for Ahmed and a well-deserved reward for his contribution to the team. 👏🏏

With contributions right through the batting order, the Jaguars posted a massive 282/8 from 36 overs.

The bowlers then finished the job in style, dismissing the opposition for just 122 in 26.1 overs to secure a convincing 160-run victory. 💪🔥

Western Jaguars Cricket Club (WJCC) is pleased to announce that Registrations for the *Summer Competitions 2026-27* are commencing next week for IWHCA and NDCA.

Below are few key points about these two competitions:

*IWHCA (Inner West Harbour Cricket Association)*:
• All Saturday afternoon games (1:00 pm to 6 pm)
• ⁠All games on Mat pitches
• Aprox 16-18 Rounds of 1-day games (35 overs each)
• Duration: Mid of Sep to March-27 with 1 month Christmas break

*NDCA (Nepean District Cricket Association)*:
• Saturday afternoon games (1:30 pm to 7 pm)
• ⁠mix of Mat and Turf Wickets (Grade 1 - all turf games)
• 16-18 rounds of 1-day games (40 overs each)
• Duration: Mid of Sep to March-27 with 1 month Christmas break

Feel free to join as an individual player or let us know if you want to get the whole team. Our club can nominate multiple teams across same/different grades.

What an incredible evening as we came together to celebrate the achievements, dedication and success of our Western Jaguars family during the Summer 2025/26 season.

The night was filled with smiles, applause and unforgettable moments as we recognised our outstanding individual performers, including our Best Batters, Best Bowlers, Best Fielders and Players of the Series across all grades. Congratulations to every award winner. Your hard work, consistency and commitment throughout the season truly paid off.

A brilliant all-round team performance sees WJCC Hawks register a 26-run victory over JSCC AMGO Lions in the David Betts Trophy! 💛🖤

Batting first, we posted 144/10 in 30 overs, before our bowlers put on a clinical display to bowl the opposition out for 118 in 23.2 overs.

An outstanding all-round performance:
🏏 36 runs with the bat when the team needed it most.
🎯 5 wickets for just 11 runs in 6 overs, including 2 maidens, completely turning the game in our favour.

👏 Sunil Chaudhari provided a flying start with a quick 30 off 18 balls, while Shubham Taneja (3/21) and Prashant Chavan (1/22) backed up Varun brilliantly with the ball.

It was a complete team effort, with every player contributing through disciplined bowling, sharp fielding, and great energy on the ground.

Congratulations to Varun Singh on a well-deserved Player of the Match award, and congratulations to the entire Hawks squad on another fantastic win! On to the next one! 💪

**Giants make it six from six as Gupta wrecks Parramatta**

WJCC Giants remain the team to beat this season, cruising to a 67-run win over Parramatta CCC I and keeping their unbeaten run alive after six rounds.

Batting first, the Giants didn't fire on all cylinders but found enough substance in the middle order to post 126/9 off their 32 overs. Rohit Arora held things together with an unbeaten 22, while a string of useful contributions down the order kept the scoreboard ticking — Arun Nayak (19), Sanjay Pradhan (18), Pranav Teja (16), and 14 apiece from Balram Gupta and Navaneethakannan Murugan. Nobody dominated, but everyone chipped in, and it added up to a total that always felt like it might be enough on a wicket where nothing came easy. Guru Jayatheerthan and Ravi Shankar Chandrasekar did the early damage for Parramatta, finishing with 2/27 each.

And it proved to be exactly that, because Parramatta's chase never got going. Set 127 to win, they were bowled out for just 59 in 29 overs — the Giants' bowl

Blaze XI – 155/9 (29.5 overs)
A competitive total, but the innings was heavily aided by 22 extras, including 20 wides.

Chasing 156, WJCC got off to a solid start through Prashant Gaikwad, who anchored the innings with a composed 54 off 54 balls (6 fours).

Despite losing wickets regularly, WJCC held their nerve and reached the target with 7 balls to spare.

WJCC Warriors 107 (27.3 overs) defeated PRSLCC Blue 85 (26.3 overs) by 22 runs.

WJCC Warriors secured a hard-fought 22-run victory in a low-scoring contest, thanks to disciplined bowling and excellent teamwork after being restricted to 107.

WJCC Warriors Innings – 107 all out

* Teerth Upadhyay: 34 (51) – anchored the innings with patience.
* Prashant Gaikwad: 21 (30) – provided a solid start.
* Extras contributed a significant 19 runs, helping the total reach 107.

Despite regular wickets, WJCC managed to post a competitive target on a challenging batting surface.

PRSLCC Blue Chase – 85 all out

The Warriors’ bowlers kept the pressure on from the start, never allowing PRSLCC to build partnerships.
