With the 𝗢𝟰𝟬𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗻𝘀𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝘃 𝗖𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 on the line, and Townsville defending 114 in the final T20 leg, 𝘾𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙨 𝙃𝙤𝙧𝙣 and 𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙚 “𝘾𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙮” 𝙏𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙧 delivered when it mattered most — turning up the heat with the ball and ripping through the Cairns batting line-up. 🔥

A fantastic day for Townsville Masters Cricket, with both our O40s and O50s sides turning things around in style to record decisive victories in today’s T20 fixtures.

The venue was first-class, the hospitality was exceptional, and everyone felt incredibly welcome — especially with the great food and cold bevvies laid on throughout both days.

Most importantly, the cricket was played hard, fair and in tremendous spirit by both sides.

We look forward to building on this weekend and making it a regular tradition for years to come!

Unfortunately, the boys went down today to Cairns. But a terrific opening innings from Luke Hayes had Cairns award him the ‘Townsville Player of the Game’ and bottle of whisky! 🥃

𝙉𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙣 𝙍𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙤𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙖𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙣 𝙚𝙥𝙞𝙘 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙨𝙚!

In another thriller in a Townsville Masters Cricket season that continues to prove anyone can beat anyone, 𝙉𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙣 𝙍𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨
have opened their account with a brilliant run chase, rolling over the 𝘽𝙖𝙧𝙗𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙨 with 7 balls to spare.

Batting first, Barbarians’ Mr Reliable, 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙠 𝙉𝙤𝙨𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙮, produced another quality half-century, with strong support from 𝙋𝙖𝙪𝙡 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙮 31, 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙣 𝙏𝙖𝙡𝙗𝙤𝙩 43 and 𝘿𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙚𝙡 𝙊𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙘𝙝 29no off 19 balls.

But the Barramundi came out swinging.

𝙋𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝘼𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙨 continued his outstanding form with 51 retired off 34 balls, while 𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙤𝙣 𝘾𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙤𝙣 also reached 51 retired to put Northern Rivers right in the hunt.

Then came the twist.

A collapse of 5 wickets for just 6 runs suddenly had the game on a knife’s edge. Enter 𝘿𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙠 𝘾𝙤𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜, who held his nerve, dug in and steered Northern Rivers home for a memorable first win.

The competition is well and truly alive — every side is in the hunt, and every game is delivering!

In Game 9 of the Townsville Masters Cricket season, the 𝙂𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝘽𝙪𝙡𝙡𝙨 claimed their second win of the campaign, knocking off the previously unbeaten 𝙉𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙨 𝙍𝙚𝙙𝙢𝙚𝙣 in impressive fashion.

The victory was set up by a superb spell from off-spinner 𝙑𝙞𝙡𝙩𝙤𝙣 𝘾𝙧𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙤, who finished with outstanding figures of 4-17, including the prized wicket of Australian representative 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙩 𝙃𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙨.

After restricting the Redmen to 8-145 from their 40 overs, the Bulls made light work of the chase. 𝙂𝙖𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙫 𝙋𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙡 continued his red-hot form with the bat, blasting 48 from just 34 balls, while opening partner 𝙅𝙤𝙝𝙣 𝙎𝙩𝙚𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙩 played a classy hand of 40 from 48 deliveries, featuring a number of textbook drives.

A special mention must also go to 𝙂𝙚𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙧, who bowled beautifully in a losing side, finishing with 1-10 from 3.5 overs. His drift had 𝙏𝙤𝙣𝙮 𝙃𝙤𝙡𝙯𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙡 in all sorts of trouble.

The Bulls ultimately cruised to victory in 23.5 overs, sealing the win with seven wickets in hand.
