Northside Pickleball Club will be putting on hold all of its current sessions with Brisbane Pickleball Club taking many of these on. With sudden staff changes we felt this the best course of action to ensure pickleball continues relatively uninterrupted at The Gap Tennis Club. Thank you again for all your support and patience during this time 😊

Have you tried the sport that's making the news! Even The Age writes:
"Welcome to pickleball. And remember that name, though how could you forget it? Its origins are obscure (it’s named after a spare boat crew in rowing, called a pickle boat) and the history of the name taps into the nature of the sport: it is about thrown-together bits of badminton, tennis, squash and table tennis.
Echoing the US explosion, in Australia the game has surged from virtually nothing five years ago to a boom sport, growing 20 per cent a year, according to the Pickleball Australia Association." (The Age, Neil McMahon, January 14, 2023)

We are going back to basics! Pickleball has three shot options a groundstroke, volley, or a d**k!
The groundstroke is any shot made after the ball has bounced once. The groundstroke will make up most of the shots made in Pickleball.
A volley put simply is any shot that is made before the ball hits the ground. These tend to be more powerful. One of the most popular types of volleys in Pickleball is the overhead smash!
Finally, a d**k is a type of groundstroke that’s only used at or near the net. The d**king stroke is gentle but precise.
