Boys,
Tough one to swallow after the *semi-final* . We fought hard but just fell short. My head is probably still somewhere at Rydlemere 🤪 — but that’s cricket sometimes. What really matters is that we gave it a proper crack and, most importantly, we enjoyed the season together.
If we take a step back, this was a huge improvement from last year and something we should all be proud of.
At *SMBH* , yes, we play to win — but more importantly, we play the game the right way. Carrying the cricketing *culture* , showing *respect* to opponents, umpires , and each other and *friendship* is what defines us. This season, the whole team stood tall in that regard, and that’s something i am genuinely proud of as captain. 👏. Captain is as good as the team 🤭.
*Some great highlights from the 2025–26 season:*
- 🎍We managed to play 18 out of 20 games — only 2 washed out by weather (miracle by Sydney standards! 🌧️).
- 🏏 6 batters crossed 200+ runs, and 2 crossed 150+, with *Nadeem* leading the charge with 459 runs. Massive effort.
- 🏏3 bowlers took 25+ wickets, with *Harsha* topping the charts with 32 wickets. Proper damage done there.
- 👲3 fielders grabbed 10+ catches — safe hands everywhere.
- 💰 *$240* contributions for the *party* 🥳
That’s some serious contribution across the whole squad. This shows we’re not a one-man team — we’re a proper unit with many unsung heroes.
*Next season* , we come back fresh, stronger, and hungrier. We’ve got a talented and passionate group, and honestly, the best is still ahead of us.
One thing we all need to work on is *FITNESS* . Let's show our bodies some love this winter. Less biryani, more running… or at least equal balance 😅
Finally — *Venkat* and *Jag* are planning a team catch-up (camping 🏕 or possibly a home party). So stay tuned… and start preparing your best stories from the season.
