We wanted to reach out to our wider community as we get ready for the new season—we’d love to welcome some new faces to join our wonderful LGBTQIA+ softball league.

Whether you’ve just moved to Sydney, want to make more q***r friends or fancy trying something different, we’d love to hear from you. 💛

You don’t need to have played softball before, be particularly sporty or know anyone already. It’s as much about friendship and community as it is about the game!

🥎 Our season kicks off on Tuesday 13th October, with games on Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm through to early March. We play mainly at Robertson Road Fields, with some games at Alexandria Park and Rushcutters Bay. We’ve only got a few playing places left!

🥎🏳️‍🌈 ROUND 2 REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

Round 2 for the Sydney Outfielders 2026–27 season is officially open — and this round is open to everyone.

Whether you’re a man, woman, gender diverse, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander / Mob, a returning Outfielder or completely new to the league, you can apply in Round 2.

Never played softball before? That’s completely fine. We welcome everyone from total beginners through to experienced players. Sydney Outfielders is about q***r community, friendship, getting active and enjoying a little healthy competition along the way. 💛

⚠️ Places are limited, including across our men’s, women’s and gender-diverse player allocations, so we recommend registering as soon as you can.

💰 2026–27 Player Membership
Standard — $140
Concession — $75
First Nations / Mob — $100

Payment assistance is also available through our Player Access Fund — please don’t let cost be the reason you don’t join us.

📅 Round 2 closes at 7pm Thursday 3 September, or earlier if available places are filled.

Submitting the registration form is the first step and does not automatically confirm a place. We’ll review registrations against the remaining vacancies and team composition requirements, then contact successful applicants with payment instructions and next steps.

The Sydney Outfielders 2026–27 season is getting closer, and Round 1 registration is now open!

You can register in Round 1 if you are new to Sydney Outfielders AND:
✨ You’re a woman
✨ You’re gender diverse
✨ You’re Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander / Mob, of any gender
✨ You participated in our 2026 Training Academy
✨ You’ve been recruited or invited to join by one of our team captains

Whether you’ve played softball for years, haven’t played since school, or have never picked up a bat before, you don’t need any previous softball experience to join us.

Sydney Outfielders is Sydney’s LGBTQIA+ slow-pitch softball league, bringing our community together through sport, friendship and a little healthy competition. 🏳️‍🌈🥎

📅 Round 1 closes at 7pm on Thursday 3rd September.
Submitting the registration form is the first step and does not immediately confirm your membership. We’ll review registrations and contact you once your place has been confirmed, along with payment instructions. You’ll then have 7 days to complete payment to secure your membership.

We’re heading to Bunnings Alexandria to fire up the barbie for a good old fashioned sausage sizzle, and we’d love to see you there.

Every sausage sold goes straight back into the club, funding training, teams and community events.

If you’re around on the day, swing by, grab a snag and have a chat. It’s a small thing that makes a real difference for Sydney Outfielders.

Sydney Outfielders Training Academy is 6 weeks of beginner-friendly softball training before the 2026/27 season kicks off. Run by coaches from Softball NSW, backed by our own volunteers.

Learn proper technique, build real skills, get game-ready. No league commitment, no pressure, just a chance to learn, meet people and have a hit.

Open to everyone 18+. Outfielders members and newcomers alike.

The Sydney Outfielders Training Academy is officially here. 💛🥎

Launching this off-season, the academy is a structured 6-week beginner-friendly softball training program designed to help new, returning and curious players build skills, confidence and community before the season begins.

Delivered by experienced softball players and coaches from Softball NSW, with support from Sydney Outfielders volunteers, this is more than just a casual hit-around.

The program is designed to help participants learn proper technique, develop core softball skills, understand the game and feel more prepared heading into the 2026/27 season.

The academy is open to everyone aged 18 years and older, including Sydney Outfielders members, future players and members of the public.

Whether you’ve never picked up a glove before, haven’t played in years, are joining from another sport, want to sharpen your skills before the season begins or simply want to get a taste of softball before October rolls around, this is your chance to get involved.

Dates: Saturday 25 July to Saturday 29 August 2026
Time: 10:30 am to 12:00 pm
