NOW OPEN 👉 2027 Croquet Australia Player & Official Grants‼

Croquet Australia is committed to assisting the development of players with the potential to represent Australia at national and international events, and officials (including tournament managers and assistant managers, referees and coaches) with the potential to perform senior managerial or officiating duties at National or International events.

Six grants of up to $500 are available to support players, coaches, referees, tournament managers, and gateball participants aiming for national or international success.

Applications close 5pm, Friday 2 October 2026.

Congratulations go to Rob Ey & Aniko Osvald, winners of the 2026 NSW GC Open Doubles tournament, held at Newcastle National Park Croquet Club, 21-23 August.

Well done to all entrants, and thank you to the TM and team at Newcastle NP CC, the referees and timekeepers who gave their time to assist with the running of the competition.

2026 NSW Gateball Championships will be held at Nowra Croquet Club in October. This tournament is open to any Australian and international competitors who are affiliated with their state or equivalent associations.
Closing date for entries is 25 September.

2026 NSW Ricochet Division 2 Singles Championship:
Phyllis Waters wins this year's RC Division 2 tournament.
Hosted at Forster Croquet Club on 8-9 August 2026.

Six players with RC handicaps between 4 and 9 competed in a round robin (level play with a 2h time limit per game).
In Block play, Peter Long (Forster) won his 5 games and Phyllis Waters (Lismore) won 4. As top scorers, both went on to play against each other in the best-of-three X Final, with Phyllis winning in two, scoring 22 - 10 and 18 - 17. Congratulations Phyllis for winning this event for the third consecutive year.

In the Y Knock out play-off Peter Deeth (Coutts Crossing) came 3rd and Ruth Mulvaney (Toronto) came 4th.
Thank you to the referees: Janine Crellin and Penny Jude on Friday and Saturday and Bridget Earle and Sue Moss on Sunday.
Thank you Aileen Matlawski for managing the event and the Forster Club for their hospitality.

Following a recent statewide survey, Croquet NSW manufactured and distributed custom 'Play Croquet' banners to help clubs promote croquet in their area. Here are a few of them in action across NSW.
