People ask me what my "secret" is for coaching runners through their first ultra.
Honestly? 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐞.
No magic formula. No secret workout hiding in a drawer somewhere. Just the fundamentals, done properly, every single week.
Knowing the runner behind the training plan. Checking in regularly, not just during race week. Doing what I said I'd do, when I said I'd do it. And showing up with the same consistency I ask of you.
That's it. That's the whole approach.
If that sounds like the kind of coaching you've been looking for, send me a message. Happy to have a chat.

She showed up after an injury, with one race on the calendar and no idea if her body would hold up.
Here's what she had to say after working with Journey2Ultra.
No question is ever too small. That's the deal.
Building back from injury? Our coaching spots are open, link in bio.

I've seen so many people ask how to train for Ultra Kosciuszko and get told things like "just learn to run downhill" 😅
I get it, the comment section means well. But too intense, too generic, or just plain wrong advice isn't going to get you ready for that course. I've built runners up for Ultra-Trail Kosciuszko before, and I want to show you exactly how.
Come join me live for the workshop, I'll walk you through the real training approach, no guesswork needed.

Taper week messes with everyone's head. You feel sluggish, you start doubting your fitness, and the temptation to squeeze in "one more session" is real. Get it wrong, and you show up to the start line either flat or undercooked.
I broke down exactly how to taper for a trail or ultra in my latest piece for Trail Run Magazine, out in the next edition.
Keep an eye out for it.

My first ultra was a mess. No structure, no nutrition plan, kit heavy enough to survive an apocalypse, and a watch that gave me zero feedback. I just ran and hoped for the best.
Same race, same legs, different approach with a coach behind me: 𝟓-𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐏𝐁.
Structure beats guesswork. Every time.
