🥊 Neutral Corner History – Valentino “Bring It” Borg

Valentino Borg was a major part of Neutral Corner during our early years and produced some memorable performances on our shows.

A proud lightweight champion, Valentino won multiple titles under the Neutral Corner banner and will always be an important part of our history.

It was also a pleasure dealing with Valentino and his team, especially his longtime coach Mark Grech, who remains in his corner and is still going strong today.

A true warrior, a champion and a great part of the Neutral Corner story. 🥊

🥊 Neutral Corner Tribute – Bilal Akkawy

A tribute to one of the hardest punchers ever to step into the ring on a Neutral Corner card — Bilal Akkawy.

Bilal brought tremendous power, excitement and intensity every time he fought. A genuine knockout artist and one of the most explosive fighters Australian boxing has produced.

He was also one of Canelo Alvarez’s main sparring partners in the lead-up to many of his fights, which shows the level Bilal competed at.

I also had the privilege of boxing with his father back in the 1980s. What a great boxing family and wonderful people.

It was an honour to have Bilal compete on Neutral Corner and become part of our history. 🥊💥

From past battles to the next chapter 🥊

Neutral Corner has delivered plenty of memorable moments over 86 professional shows—and well over 200 events when including our amateur promotions—featuring some outstanding fighters along the way.

From Valentino Borg, one of the best to compete on our early cards, to George Kambosos Jr, who came through the Neutral Corner ranks before becoming a world champion, and Bilal Akkawy facing Giovanni De Carolis in 2018, these photos are part of our proud history.

We also remember the late former NSW Boxing Commissioner and his contribution to the sport.
