Things I didn't know before the showing- Strip The Life Fantastic is moving, hilarious, thought provoking story telling and it is a joy to share history- both my personal history as well as Darlinghurst history... of how drag, burlesque and short format underground cabaret acts, otherwise deemed as degenerate art, broke through to be loved, socially acceptable and even a career choice.
I can't wait to do it again, a five night season at Qtopia, Taylor Square- which in itself is an historic space... I used to deliver condoms to the underground beat when I was an AIDS officer in the early nineties.
I'm happy to see the graffiti on the walls is still standing.
