Caboolture’s Women have wrapped up the regular season in emphatic fashion, running in 14 tries to defeat Noosa 68–4 and officially claim the minor premiership.

The Snakes were firing from everywhere. Centre Judy Crosby crossed for a hat-trick, while fullback Latisha Hoek was busy all day with two tries and three conversions. Kanisha Green added a double, and Aamira Renouf grabbed two of her own - her second coming after a beautifully sold dummy opened the door to the try line.

It wasn’t just the finishers doing the damage. Caboolture’s forwards were punching holes through the middle, creating plenty of momentum, while some slick cut-out passing out wide had the Noosa defence stretched and scrambling.

A dominant way to close out the season - 68 points, 14 tries and top spot secured.

Now the minor premiers turn their attention to finals footy, with Kawana waiting in the semi-final.

Kawana’s U19s have put an exclamation mark on the final round of the regular season, running out 52–8 winners over the Gympie Devils and locking in second spot heading into finals.

The Dolphins had plenty of strike out wide, with wingers Finn Brooker and Taj Baxter both crossing for doubles. Baxter’s haul also sees him finish the regular season tied as the competition’s leading points scorer - a huge effort across the year.

And there’s another young name worth keeping an eye on.
Nate Lapworth, still barely 17 and only a few weeks into his U19s career, added a try of his own. At 6’5”, the U17s prospect is already an imposing figure and away from footy, he holds weightlifting records across three age groups. Safe to say, there’s some serious power coming through the Kawana ranks.

The 52–8 result wraps up the home-and-away season for the Dolphins, but the job is far from finished.

Kawana finish second in the Top 4 and now turn their attention to Caloundra in the first semi-final.

Noosa’s U19s have finished the regular season with a statement, running in 10 tries in a 54–6 win over 3rd-placed Caboolture at home.

The Pirates were slick with the footy all afternoon, shifting the ball through the hands with speed and precision and creating space out wide. Their passing game was sharp, with plenty of support around the ball as they repeatedly opened up the Caboolture defence.

Fullback Lachie Britten crossed for a double and backed it up with the boot, slotting 7 from 10 conversions for an impressive 22-point haul.

And Noosa saved a beauty for last. Halfback Hayden Anderson spotted the opportunity, dropped a pinpoint chip in behind the defence and won the chase to score the Pirates’ 10th try.

Caboolture hold onto 3rd spot, but the big question is what happens immediately below them. Noosa and Coolum are in the tussle for 4th, and a 50-point win in the final round could be hugely important when the final ladder is settled.

Rileigh Rumings is making an immediate impact in Maroochydore’s A Grade side.
With no Under 19s competition for the Swans this season, Rumings has been developing his game in Reggies before earning his opportunity in the top grade.

He marked his Round 15 debut with a try in Maroochydore’s 70-6 win over Nambour, then backed it up a week later with a double against Kawana.
What’s made the start even more impressive is his versatility and youth. A natural halfback, Rumings shifted to ho**er in Round 16 and looked right at home.

Three tries from his opening two A Grade appearances is an outstanding return and another sign of the young talent coming through the Swans’ ranks. 🦢

The Swans were soaring, and Mike Filiga was right in the middle of it.

The Maroochydore five-eighth put on an attacking masterclass, weaving his magic to finish with a hat-trick as the Swans dismantled Nambour 70-6.

Whenever Filiga had the ball, something looked like happening. His vision, footwork and support play kept the defence on the back foot all night, capping off one of the standout individual performances of the round.
