Congratulations to Alicia L (Year 8) and Constance W (Year 7), who represented NSW at the Australian All Schools Golf Championships last week at Moonah Links in Victoria.

The girls produced some exceptional golf across the six days of competition, competing against the best Under 18 golfers from across Australia.

In the individual competition, both girls finished inside the top 10 nationally, with Constance claiming an outstanding 3rd place and Alicia finishing 8th overall.

Last week, Charlotte C (Year 8) and Alexia P (Year 7) attended the Talented Athlete Program (TAP) camp, run by Basketball NSW. Both girls were selected for the program, which supports young players who demonstrate the potential to progress as performance athletes.

Charlotte was also selected in the Sydney Flames U14 team that competed at the 2026 Leapbound Star Cup in Shanghai, an international youth basketball tournament. She had the opportunity to compete against some of the top junior players from Indonesia, China and Hong Kong.

Congratulations to both girls on some fantastic achievements in basketball.

Congratulations to the four Meriden students who represented the CIS Women’s Water Polo Team at the Schools Exchange Tournament in Woy Woy last week.

Emily B (Year 11), Madeleine H (Year 11), Georgina S (Year 10) and Olivia R (Year 9) competed across three days against associations from New South Wales and Queensland, finishing with an impressive 11–9 victory over Queensland in the final.

Special recognition to Emily, named Most Valuable Goalkeeper, and Madeleine, selected in the Tournament 7 and named MVP of the final. Olivia also made a significant impact throughout the tournament, showing outstanding improvement as the youngest player in the team.

Congratulations to Charlotte C. (Year 8) and Alexia P. (Year 7) on their outstanding performances at the 2026 Waratah Junior Premier League Finals Series in Newcastle over the weekend.

Following convincing quarter-final victories, both U14 teams progressed to the semi-finals. Alexia’s team battled hard against the eventual champions, finishing in a commendable fourth place, while Charlotte’s team produced a strong finals campaign to secure the runner-up position after a hard-fought Grand Final.

A fantastic achievement by both students competing at one of the highest levels of junior basketball in NSW.

Congratulations to Henrietta Y S (Year 10), who has been proudly representing New Zealand at the U16 Water Polo World Championships in Zagreb, Croatia.

Henrietta has delivered a series of outstanding performances throughout the tournament, earning Player of the Match honours following a dominant display in New Zealand’s pool match against Zimbabwe. The team advanced to the quarter-finals, where they put up a determined fight against a strong Greek side.

New Zealand will now compete in the 5th–8th place classification matches, with their next game taking place tomorrow.

Year 12 student Elissa F proudly represented Australia at the World Junior Ultimate Championships (WJUC) in Logroño, Spain, during the school holidays.

Competing in the inaugural Australian mixed-gender team at the event, Elissa helped lead the team to an outstanding 7th-place finish among 16 nations, surpassing their initial seeding of 8th. As one of the team captains, Elissa played an important role in building the legacy of this historic Australian squad and inspiring the next generation of Ultimate athletes.

Congratulations, Elissa, on this remarkable achievement on the world stage!

Our tennis players were busy over the school holidays, competing across a range of ITF junior tournaments in Australia and overseas, as well as the 15/U Australian Teams Championships.

It was fantastic to see our students representing Meriden on the national and international stage, gaining valuable experience and achieving some impressive results against strong competition.

A fantastic effort from all of our snowsport athletes. We are incredibly proud of their commitment and achievements on the slopes.

Over 40 students participated in each day of the Meriden Badminton holiday training sessions, with girls from Senior School General, Senior School Squad and Development, and Junior School Development programs in attendance.

The sessions provided a valuable opportunity for Junior and Senior School students to train alongside one another, fostering skill development, collaboration and connection across year groups. Students also took part in a mini-competition, with congratulations to Renee Z (Year 8), Chloe X (Year 8) and Doris X (Year 3) on their success.

Thank you to our coaching team for delivering such high-quality training throughout the holiday period. We look forward to seeing our students continue their development and represent Meriden at the Meriden Invitational in Term 3.
