Hyrox Heroes Helping people complete HYROX!!

06/09/2026

HYROX has a funny way of exposing people.

Not just physically.
Mentally.

Because when things get hard…
you can’t fake composure.

You can’t fake discipline.
You can’t fake trust in yourself.

And the athletes who perform best?

They’re not always the fittest.

They’re the ones who stay calm when everyone else starts to panic.
The ones who keep executing when it hurts.
The ones who trust the work they’ve already done.

That’s why HYROX changes people.

Because eventually you realise this isn’t just about fitness anymore.

It’s about who you become under pressure.

The confidence.
The discipline.
The resilience.

That’s what carries you through race day.

And life.

🔥 If you’re ready to train like an athlete who can handle the pressure, comment READY and we’ll send you a free 7-day trial inside Hybrid Heroes.

HYROX isn't just about fitness.

It's about who you become.

Every training session teaches discipline.
Every hard workout builds resilience.
Every setback develops character.
Every finish line proves you're capable of more than you thought.

The race lasts a few hours.

The person you become because of it lasts a lifetime.

Train for the finish.

Stay for the transformation.

Ever secretly worry you're going to blow up on race day?

Pretty much every Hyrox athlete has had that thought. You start imagining going out too hard heart rate through the roof, nothing left in the tank by halfway.

Here's the thing though. Most people don't blow up because they're not good enough. They blow up because they get caught up in the excitement of race day and forget the plan they actually trained.

The athletes who perform best aren't always the fittest ones in the room. They're the ones who stay patient early and trust their pacing when everyone around them is sprinting off the line.

So if you're worried about blowing up don't panic about it. Let it be the reminder to stick to the plan you already prepared, not a reason to abandon it five minutes in.

The future doesn’t belong to the most talented.
It belongs to the ones who keep showing up.

Consistency will take you places motivation never will.

You won’t always feel ready.
You won’t always feel strong.
You won’t always see the progress.

But every session. Every rep. Every early morning. Every time you choose to keep going when no one is watching it compounds.

Talent might get you started.
Luck might open a door.
But discipline keeps you in the room.

So keep showing up.
Keep putting in the work.
Keep trusting the process.

Because effort never betrays you. ⚡️

Be consistent. Be patient. Keep going.

Same person. Same race. A completely different athlete.

That is 24 minutes and 12 seconds shaved off a marathon. That is not luck. That is not talent.

That is what happens when you commit to the process, trust the training and show up consistently over a long period of time.

This is exactly why we talk about building the base. About sustainable training. About repeatability. About doing the boring work week after week even when the results feel invisible.

Because one day the results are not invisible anymore. One day you cross a finish line and you realise every early morning, every hard session, every moment you chose discipline over comfort it was all adding up.

Quietly. Steadily. Unstoppably. Day one you had a dream. One day you made it real. That is the Hybrid Heroes way.

Everybody says they want to grow. Very few people want to be uncomfortable.

But the two will always come together.

Every PB.
Every breakthrough.
Every finish line.
Every version of yourself you're proud of…

lives on the other side of discomfort.

The burning lungs.
The heavy sled.
The early mornings when you really don’t feel like training.
The sessions where your body is telling you to stop and your mind has to decide to keep going.

That discomfort isn’t always a sign that something is wrong.

Sometimes, it’s the sign that you’re exactly where you need to be.

Comfort keeps you where you are.

Discomfort challenges you to become something more.

So don’t always avoid the hard sessions.
Don’t run from the moments that test you.

Lean into them. Chase them.

Because the athlete you want to become is built in the moments when staying comfortable would be easier.

Get comfortable being uncomfortable.

Your HYROX performance might not need more training. It might need a different mindset.

The athlete who sees every hard session as punishment will always look for a way out.

The athlete who sees every hard session as an opportunity will keep finding a way forward.

The workout didn’t change.
The station didn’t change.
The sled didn’t get lighter.

You changed.

The biggest gains in HYROX don’t always come from suddenly becoming stronger, fitter or faster.

They come from stopping negotiating with yourself.

When you stop asking, “Do I really have to do this?”
and start asking, “What can this session teach me?”

Everything changes.

Your effort changes.
Your consistency changes.
Your resilience changes.
And eventually… your performance changes.

Change the way you think about the work, and eventually, you’ll change the way you perform.

Train your body. Build your mind. Become the athlete.

Nobody trains movement standards until they get no-repped in a race. Then suddenly it's the only thing that matters.

Here's the truth about Hyrox: it doesn't matter how fast you are if the judge's hand goes up. A no-rep costs you more time than just slowing down and doing it right the first time. And yet almost nobody trains to standard they train to "close enough," then get a rude awakening on race day.

Let's go through where people actually lose reps.

Wall Balls hip crease has to break below the knee, and the ball has to hit the target line, every single rep. Not most reps. Every rep. People rush the squat depth when they're tired, and that's exactly when the judges are watching closest.

Burpee Broad Jumps chest and thighs need full contact with the ground, and the jump has to be a genuine two-footed broad jump, not a shuffle-step forward. Fatigue makes people cut the depth and turn the jump into a stumble. Both get no-repped.

Sled Push / Pull the sled has to travel the full distance, and on the pull, both hands need to stay on the rope with proper technique, not just leaning back and walking it in. Cutting the pull short is one of the most common mistakes in the sport.

Farmers Carry you have to maintain control the whole way. Drop it, and you're picking it back up from where it fell, not walking back for a fresh start. That single mistake can cost minutes, not seconds.

The standard isn't there to make the race harder for the sake of it. It's there so a finish time actually means something so your 1:15 and someone else's 1:15 required the same effort, not one person cutting corners to get there faster.

If you don't know the standards cold, you're not actually race-ready, no matter what your training times say. Train to the standard every single rep in the gym, so it's not a decision you're making for the first time under fatigue on race day.

Save this before your next race. Better to relearn it here than lose it on the clock.

Getting no repped on wall balls? Here’s what’s actually going on.

Wall balls look simple until the judges start calling no reps. Nine times out of ten it comes down to three things.

You aren’t hitting full depth in the squat. Judges are watching your hips, not your effort. If your hip crease doesn’t pass below your knee, it’s a no rep every time, no matter how hard you’re working.

You’re throwing from your arms, not your legs. The drive should come from the ground up. Your legs generate the power, your arms just guide the ball to target. Arm heavy throws burn you out and still fall short.

You’re rushing to catch and losing the target. One controlled rep beats three rushed no reps. Slow down, find the target, and trust the rhythm.

Fix these before your next session and watch your no rep count disappear.

How long do you want to be fit for?

It’s a question I’ve asked clients for 18 years of personal training.

I can make you fitter.
I can make you stronger.
We can push your performance.

But how long do you want to keep it?

If the answer is *for a long time*, then we need to train in a way that allows you to actually sustain it.

Because there’s no point chasing short-term performance through unsustainable training.

Running too hard, too often.
Too much volume.
Too much intensity.
Too many HYROX sessions.
Constantly pushing your system without enough recovery.

Eventually, something has to give.

Because you still have a job.
A relationship.
A family.
Responsibilities.
A life outside the gym.

And if you neglect those things for long enough, eventually they’ll demand your attention too.

Then the shift moves away from training.

The real goal isn’t to choose between performance and life.

It’s learning how to do both.

That’s the tug of war we all face.

Train hard enough to improve.
Recover enough to adapt.
Live enough to sustain it.

Because fitness isn’t about what you can maintain for 8 weeks.

It’s about what you can keep doing for 8 years.
