Last time we told you Jeff Speakman was heading back to the screen. Here's what it is.
Lost Echoes. Starring Jeff Speakman, written by Joe R. Lansdale, directed by Joe Gatto. It launches on Kickstarter tomorrow.
The first 24 hours come with a package that won't be offered again — your name in the credits, an exclusive poster, an exclusive t-shirt, a digital copy of the film, and the complete shooting script. $100.
Speakman built Kenpo 5.0, and Kenpo 5.0 is what your child learns on our mat every week. Mr G is the Australian representative for it. So this isn't just movie news to us — it's our lineage, still going.
If you want to be part of it, be there when it opens tomorrow. 🥋

The sensei teaching your child on Wednesday night was once the shy kid on this mat.
Four of our instructors started at KICKS in 2013, as children in the afterschool program. They earned their junior black belts here as kids. Last year they earned their adult black belts.
Student. Student leader. Coach. Sensei.
They're not teaching from a certificate they picked up somewhere else. They're teaching from the exact journey your child is about to start. They remember being the nervous one at the back of the room, because they were.
That's the whole reason this works.
Kids program, ages 7 to 11. August intake is open. Send us a message and we'll find a class that fits your week. 🥋

“I don’t think he’ll actually get on the mat…”
That’s something we’ve heard from countless parents before their child’s very first martial arts class.
Their child was shy.
Quiet.
Holding onto their parent a little tighter than usual.
First-day nerves are very real for kids.
So we told him he could just watch if he wanted to.
But after a few minutes… something changed.
He took one step onto the mat.
Tried one move.
Then another.
By the end of the class?
He was smiling, laughing, and asking his mum if he could come back tomorrow.
We see this happen all the time.
Sometimes kids just need a safe place to try, supportive instructors, and a little encouragement.
That’s when confidence starts to grow.
If your child is a little shy, struggles with confidence, or just needs something positive to channel their energy…
🥋 Martial Arts can make a huge difference.

🥋 Martial Arts is more than just an activity , it’s a vehicle for children to grow!
It teaches kids how to set goals, push through challenges, and strive for their personal best. Along the way they build confidence, focus, discipline, and respect, skills that carry straight into school and everyday life. Many parents notice improvements in their child’s listening, behaviour, and self-confidence within weeks.
We run kids classes Monday–Thursday (early, mid & late afternoon) plus Saturday classes, making it easy to fit around school and sport.
👊 We’re offering local families a FREE Introductory Lesson so your child can try a class and see if they love it.

Success in martial arts isn’t about being the most talented person in the room. It’s about showing up — not just physically, but with intention.
Anyone can show up and go through the motions. Real growth happens when you step on the mat with the mindset to improve, to push yourself, and to get just a little bit better than yesterday.
Every black belt was once a white belt who struggled with the basics. Every champion once felt nervous stepping onto the mat.
Success is built through discipline, consistency, and the decision to train with purpose.
In martial arts we learn something powerful:
Progress beats perfection.
One more focused class.
One more intentional repetition.
One more step toward the person you want to become.
That’s how confidence is built.
That’s how character is forged.
That’s how success happens.
Show up. Train with intent. Achieve your potential. 👊🥋

With 14 years of training, Katie was one of the first three students under Mr Giovenco to earn both a Junior Black Belt and later an Adult Black Belt. Today, she plays a key role in mentoring and developing the next generation, leading classes with confidence, care, and purpose.
Highlights through her students:
🥋 Guiding students to achieve Junior Black Belts and competition success
🏆 Coaching and supporting youth athletes at international events, including Oceania Championships in New Zealand (2024) and the World Championships in Las Vegas (2025)
👊 Helping young students build confidence, discipline, and leadership on and off the mats
Looking Ahead:
Katie has completed Year 12 and is in the final year of her studies to become a Primary School Teacher, driven by her passion for helping, supporting, and shaping young minds—both in the classroom and on the mats.
It’s more than martial arts.
It’s about leadership, legacy, and lifting others as you grow.
