I created this tutu for the Youth Ambassador for the Australasian Classical Gala last month. She performed the Aurora, act three variation in this tutu at the Gala night of the competition.
The tutu is made from blush Lycra, with the top layers matching and graduating down to ivory in the lowest layers. The gold lace embellishments are enhanced with Preciosa rhinestones in shades of Rose, Indian Pink and Light Colorado Topaz.

For sale! Girls 12-15 stretch tutu and arm frills, $700.
A classic combination of white and gold!
Made to fit the following measurements:
Chest: 70-75cm
Waist: 60-65cm
Hips: 75-80cm
Girth: 130-140cm
Width of top layer: 39cm
The white velvet leotard is fully lined with white Lycra and has front and back n**e inserts.
The shoulder elastics are not yet sewn down at the back to ensure a perfect fit for the dancer.
The eight layer skirt features a pleated top layer, which gives more definite net lines than the usual gathered layers on my other tutus.
The flat net plate allows the pleats to feature. Two gold trims, one with sequins, embellished the bodice and skirt and are enhanced with more than 250 Preciosa crystals in the shades of Crystal Sunrise, Golden Honey and Aurum, plus additional good quality unbranded stones on the skirt.
Velvet arm frills complete the costume.

I made this tutu earlier this year and was very happy to hear that it had made its debut on stage with this beautiful dancer.
Embossed velvet is a popular choice this year and with good reason - it makes a beautiful bodice for a tutu! A skirt of feathered ivory and cream net is topped with a layer of glitter tulle. A velvet peplum overlays a flat net plate, creating the double layered effect, with both layers edged with antique gold trim. The bodice has attached velvet sleeve frills, and crystals in shades of gold add a beautiful sparkle.

Here is a closer look at the Paquita wedding variation tutu from my last post.
This elegant tutu has an ivory/cream base, with the black embellishments made to be changed if the dancer changes variations in the future. The black bodice motifs and lace trim on the skirt are enhanced with a mix of Swarovski Jet and Jet Hematite and Preciosa Crystal Nightfall mixed with unbranded crystals in shades of black and a touch of metallic silver.

Here are some more photos of the Harlequinade tutu I made recently and its lovely dancer performing in it at recent comps.
The white leotard was paired with a skirt that graduates from dark blue up to white. Diamond shapes were cut from red and blue Lycra and each was edged with narrow gold trim. The dancer requested pom-poms be incorporated into the decorations, so tiny red and blue pom-poms, gold lace and Lycra diamonds were used on the front and back of the bodice and graduating sizes of pom-poms were used on the skirt. Gold rhinestones and Crystal AB gems and rhinestones added sparkle to this tutu. The conical hat was a fun part of the costume to make!

This custom tutu started with an ivory embossed stretch velvet leotard with an eight layer skirt in a mix of light gold, cream and ivory. The embossed velvet plate and the bodice embellishments was made from a delicate sequinned gold lace. A mix of Preciosa and quality unbranded rhinestones in shades of gold add a beautiful twinkle to this elegant costume. The dancer has a choice of velvet cuffs and stretch mesh arm frills.
This tutu’s construction allows the plate and the bodice embellishment to be removed and replaced when the tutu is required for a new variation.

Thank you to the dancer and her mother for sharing this with me 🙏
