WA STATE TITLE – NIGHT 2 | MARGARET RIVER SPEEDWAY

Wow… what a night. The boys absolutely turned it on 🔥

With WA1 of Daniel Kennedy struck by issues from night one, the door was wide open — and FBR made sure we were right in the hunt.

Heat 1 kicked things off in style with a 1–2 finish, Kris bringing it home for the win.
Heat 2… rinse and repeat — another 1–2 finish, this time Raz taking the top step.

That set the scene for something special…
FBR locking out the front row for the WA State Title.
Kris (87) on pole, Raz (88) alongside.

As soon as the green dropped — it was game on.

Kris got the jump and led the opening 12 laps, with Raz glued to his rear bar. A yellow brought the field back together, putting the 88 right back in the fight. Another restart on lap 15 saw Kris run slightly high into turn one, and Raz was ready — making a clean move to take the lead.

What followed was shaping up to be an all-time FBR showdown…

But racing can be cruel.

With just 3 laps to go, while leading, the 88 suffered a mechanical failure — ending the charge in a cloud of smoke and steam.

That left Kris out front, who kept his cool and brought it home to claim WA1 🏆

A moment 16 years in the making — and one that couldn’t be more deserved.

We couldn’t be prouder of both drivers. To lock out the front row and be battling for the win like that shows what this team is all about.

Huge thanks to all of our sponsors for their ongoing support — and a special shoutout to Dicey Ricey for making the trip down and capturing the whole weekend from the infield. We can’t wait to see what you put together!

Night One of the WA State Title at Margaret River Speedway is in the books for FBR Falconbridge Racing — and it was a strong way to kick things off 🔥🏁

Kris in the #87 was on it from the outset. The car was fast and smooth in Heat 1, charging from P4 to P2 despite a bit of contact with lapped traffic while pushing for the lead, which left the RR rim and side crash bar worse for wear. Heat 2 saw him come from P6 to P2, locked in a lap-after-lap battle with Raz in the #88, both drivers pushing hard and driving in unison.

Lining up off the front row together for the preliminary feature, Kris made the most of the start and never looked back — putting together a clean, fast race to take the win 🥇

Raz in the #88 also showed great pace all night. A solid Heat 1 (P5 → P3) followed by a Heat 2 win from the pole had him in the box seat for the feature. After 15 hard laps, he brought it home in P3 after a strong run at the front.

Plenty of speed in both cars, a few battle scars to tidy up, and we’re in a great position heading into Night Two 👊

Let’s get after it.

Race Report – Manjimup Speedway

Manjimup put on an incredibly fast track over the weekend and it made for a great night of racing for FBR Falconbridge Racing. 🏁

Heat 1 got the night off to a great start with Kris taking the win while battling overheating issues which would persist throughout the night. Raz bringing the second FBR car home in P2. After the race it was discovered Raz had been driving with a broken RR spring rod, with half of it missing, making it pretty incredible the diff managed to stay in the car long enough to finish the race.

In Heat 2, Kris backed it up with another strong run to finish P2. Raz unfortunately had to pull infield with an oil pressure issue and was recorded as a DNF.

The crew worked hard in the pits and both cars returned for Heat 3, both cars put on a great show battling for the lead. In the closest finish of season Kris managed to steal 1st place with Raz finishing P2 to give the team another strong result.

For the Feature Race, Kris started from P1 and Raz from P3, with WA1 Daniel Kennedy lining up between them in P2. At the drop of the green Kennedy jumped to the early lead, with Kris settling into second and Raz circulating in third. The order remained the same through to the chequered flag with Kris finishing P2 and Raz P3.

Overall it was a great night of racing on a seriously fast Manjimup surface and a solid result for the team.

A massive thank you to our crew who keep the cars turning laps and to all of our amazing sponsors and supporters who make it possible for us to race each weekend. 🙌

Now we start turning our attention to the WA State Title at Margaret River over Easter, this is always the biggest race of the season and nerves will be high with neither of the boys having ever managed to take the WA1 home.

WA V8 Dirt Modifieds

06/03/2026

As the day wraps up we want to wish a very Happy Birthday to FBR Falconbridge Racing team owner, Kevin Falconbridge 🥳🏁

Kev puts an enormous amount into the sport — not just with us here at FBR but also through the work he does behind the scenes for DMAWA, helping keep dirt modified racing strong here in WA.

Your passion, time and commitment to the sport and the people in it doesn’t go unnoticed, and we’re proud to be part of your team.

Both cars are loaded up and heading to Manjimup Speedway tomorrow, so hopefully we can start off the birthday weekend with some strong results on the track! 🏆

Thanks for everything you do Kev — enjoy the rest of your birthday and we’ll see you at the track.
