Seven Dynamites teams take the court this Saturday at Matthews Netball Centre. First centre pass at 9am, last game starts at 2pm, and every one of those teams has earned their spot there.

If you're free, come down. Bring a chair, bring the family, bring your voice. Our teams play their best netball when they can hear a crowd behind them, and finals are exactly when that matters most!

🏐 Exciting news, Dynamites family!
North Perth Dynamites has been awarded a Game On, Girls grant from the WA Government, and we could not be prouder of what it means for our players and our coaches.

The grant backs two things we care deeply about. First, keeping girls in the game and welcoming new players to it, because you belong on court: fun, friendship, everyone welcome, and it's good for you. Second, growing our own coaches, with workshops and development designed to bring new accredited coaches through our club.

Across the season we'll run a come-and-try session, skill development and coaching workshops, all built to help girls grow their confidence on and off the court. And we'll be listening to our players, because understanding what they want from netball is how we keep building a club where every girl wants to show up and stay.

To the girls already in Dynamites colours, and those thinking about joining us, this one's for you.

When Australia and New Zealand first clashed on the netball court in 1938, it wasn't just a battle of skill, but a compromise of systems. Playing under Australia’s preferred seven-a-side format rather than New Zealand’s traditional nine-a-side, the Diamonds delivered a definitive 42:11 masterclass. This foundational encounter did more than just establish early structural dominance for Australia; it laid the competitive bedrock for what would become the Constellation Cup. By agreeing to a unified framework for the sake of international competition, these two nations inadvertently set the wheels in motion for the global standardization of the sport.

From an analytical perspective, that 31-point margin in Melbourne was the catalyst for netball's modern high-performance culture. The structural friction of 1938 forced an evolution in tactical adaptability, prompting New Zealand to recalibrate and transforming Australia into the benchmark of elite ex*****on. Decades later, this historic compromise remains the ultimate case study in how tactical concessions can spark an iconic sports rivalry. What began as a lopsided experiment under compromised rules evolved into the most fiercely contested bilateral series in world netball, proving that the roots of modern dominance are often planted in the spirit of early adaptation.

Nothing beats a post-netball treat! 🍦 One of our Year 9 teams earned every spoonful of this one. After a big day on the court these girls know exactly how to celebrate together, and Yochi did not disappoint.
