Super practical tools to weave nervous system regulation into your day. Built from years of observing many skull and body brains in action ❤️
I’ve talked about this quite a lot before and I want to say it again. Embodiment or somatic practices are not about “getting out of my head and into my body” - they are about building more compassionate and collaborative connection BETWEEN them. ❤️🩹🙏
In a letter to his friend Gertrude Tennant, 19th century French novelist Gustave Flaubert wrote:
“Soyez réglé dans votre vie et ordinaire comme un bourgeois, afin d’être violent et original dans vos œuvres.”
One frequently cited English translation of this quote has adorned the opening page of many of my notebooks over the years:
“Be steady and well-ordered in your life so that you can be fierce and original in your work”.
For a long time, it was aspirational. These days, I know what it is to live it.
In 2021, despite being an already highly productive and organised person, George Kao and his productivity teachings gave me my first experience (and this very particular moment is etched in my memory - it’s so freaking transcendent) of ending a day…calmly…joyfully…peacefully.
I closed my notebooks and shut down my computer and had this beautiful relaxed feeling in my body along with a relaxed quiet mind.
I knew I had done enough.
I felt I had done enough.
And I knew what to do and where to start when I would come back to my desk the following day.
No chaotic panic, just clarified purpose. It’s one of the things that supported me in building my beautiful business these past 5 years.
“Be steady and well-ordered in your life so that you can be fierce and original in your work”.
A while back, in the peak of perimenopause, buying and moving a house, completing my practicum and my master’s degree while maintaining my business duties and a full private practice caseload, I lost it for a while. I fell off the “working lightly” (George’s catch phrase) wagon. While I remained productive, I got quite disorganised and close to burn out.
Among many reasons for this, one of them was losing touch with my own daily somatic practice. I found myself pushing instead of holding myself through hard things. I started rushing instead of rolling through my days and I began stomping heavily rather than walking lightly through all my many competing obligations.
The second was that as a group ju**ie - I know that I can never do these things alone, it's just not how my brain works. George had begun to slow down and I simply couldn’t access his live sessions due to time zone clashes. I lost my community support structure.
I knew I had to find a way to weave his teachings with my (renewed) somatic practices and live sessions in my time zone back together. It’s what allows me to stay in service, in my work, my home, my life.
Voila Embodied Joyful Productivity 🙂 Weekly teaching and practice sessions to work lightly. I’ll teach and we’ll all implement, in real time, together. George will pop in monthly to hold deep dives and Q n A’s.
In this small clip from our longer chat about why we want to do this collaboration, George and I are discussing the power of regular somatic practice woven into work and productivity.
The founding round starts Friday July 31st, doors close Wednesday July 29th.

When Kate first came to me, she knew there was a problem but she couldn’t quite name it.
She’d started working for herself and found it overwhelming. She thought that being unstructured in her approach to it was just who she was, a personality trait she was stuck with.
But was we worked together she learned it COULD change.
Instead of forcing her into a system that didn’t suit her brain, which only adds a sense of failure on top of the overwhelm, we worked with her specific patterns and processing style. Slowly and sustainably, she built routines, rhythms and structures that work with how she actually works.
This is what we’ll do together in - Embodied Joyful Productivity, a small online and very hands on group program I’m running with George Kao. We start July 31 and we’ll guide a small group of people through the methods that help transform “productivity” from pressure to presence in daily life.

Here's the thing I really get after years of working with quirky brains, stressed out people, traumatised nervous systems, neurodivergent clients and in my own life: you can't drive a brain you don’t like or understand.
And if you can’t drive your brain, it’s really hard to get things done. You might lurch from overdrive to catatonic and into frustration. Or you might get things done but deep down you know you're grinding your gears and burning out your engine so it’s hard to enjoy getting things done when you do.
It can all just feel like pesky, painful pressure.
Whiteboard after whiteboard, year after year I have sat in the clinic room mapping individual brains, sensory patterns and nervous systems. Every encounter has shown me that when we come into relationship with both our skull brains and our “body brains” with warmth and permission, we can build a system for working with how we work. That's what lets you befriend your own brain and actually drive it, with less friction, less frustration, and a lot more fun and freedom.
My tools?
Systematically applied somatic practices.
Simple + flexible structures for working with tasks, time and projects.
Permission to be the way you are and work with it.
TODAY I am launching a 5 month online group program - EMBODIED JOYFUL PRODUCTIVITY with my mentor and colleague George Kao.
Combining our two frameworks - Embodied Living Method (Mira) and Joyful Productivity (George) we’ll provide guidance, hands-on help and co-working sessions where we will teach you these tools and support you to create your own set of what I call “Rituals of Resilience”.
A small, live, 5-month founding cohort, starts 31 July. This founding round is capped at 20 participants for maximum support and safety for the group.

When I was able to both articulate and experience the difference between presence as warm witnessing versus cold observation, everything changed in my capacity to truly heal. It’s an important distinction in our relationships with ourselves and - imho - essential experience in our relationships with healers, therapists and coaches. 🙏🧡
Customised Systems that give you flexible structure and stability are needed for sustainable creative flow ~ whether in a business or in your life. Come hang out with me and find how to build yours 😜🙏🌻 Joyful Productivity ~ Embodied is coming soon. Link in bio for more details 😍
If you find it hard to switch from one task to another, one mode of activity to another (like meetings to writing for example). Conscious transitions might help! 🥰 Mira xx
