SEMI FINALS DELIVER MIXED RESULTS …

The first week of finals delivered mixed results for Orange City.

Our 3rd Grade men continued their strong run, proving too good for Dubbo to book their place in the Grand Final. They’ll now await the winner of Emus and Dubbo.

The Lionesses went down in an epic battle against the Dubbo Roolettes, but their season is far from over. They’ll take on the Bathurst Bulldogs next weekend for another shot at Dubbo in the Grand Final.

Our 1st Grade men bowed out of finals contention after going down to Cowra in a tough, physical battle, bringing their 2026 campaign to an end.

One team through. One team with another shot. One season finished.

FINAL XV FRIDAY …

A big weekend ahead for three of our senior teams.

Our 1st Grade Women and 3rd Grade Men head to Dubbo on Saturday for their respective major semi-finals. Win and they’re through to the Grand Final. A loss means a last chance opportunity next weekend.

On Sunday, our 1st Grade Men travel to Cowra for a sudden-death minor semi-final. Win and they move on to play for a place in the Grand Final next weekend.

Plenty on the line across two big days of finals footy.

Get out and about this weekend and get behind the Lions and Lionesses.

CONGRATULATIONS …

Congratulations to Katie Baker, Karina Dundas and Nathan Bourke, who have all reached the significant milestone of 50 games for Orange City.

Katie and Karina have both been integral members of our women’s side throughout another outstanding season and will line up this weekend in the Ferguson Cup major semi-final against the Dubbo Roolettes.

Nathan has been a key part of our third grade side, who also head into a major semi-final against the Dubbo Roos, with a place in the Grand Final on the line.

Congratulations to all three on a fantastic achievement. Three terrific club people who have given plenty to Orange City, and thoroughly deserve the recognition.

THE PECKING ORDER …

Time to get out and get behind the Lions and Lionesses this weekend.

On Saturday, head to Victoria Park in Dubbo to support our 3rd Grade men and 1st Grade Women as they fight for a place in their respective Grand Finals.

Then on Sunday, make the trip to Cowra and get behind our Men’s 1st Grade team in a sudden-death final, where there’s no second chance.

Three teams. Two days. Plenty at stake.

Get there, make some noise. Your support could make the difference.

THE POINTY END …

The pointy end of the season has arrived, and three of our senior teams have earned the right to play finals footy.

Games at this time of year always go up a notch because there’s more at stake. Every club starts the season wanting to be there when the silverware is decided — if it didn’t matter, they wouldn’t keep score.

There’s plenty happening across the weekend for Orange City.

On Saturday, our Women’s 1st Grade and Men’s 3rd Grade sides head to Dubbo, with both taking on the Dubbo Roos for a place in their respective Grand Finals. Win, and they’re straight through with a week off. If they don’t quite get the job done, they’ll have another opportunity next weekend.

Then on Sunday, our Men’s 1st Grade side heads to Cowra to take on the Cowra Eagles in a sudden-death semi-final. There’s no second chance in this one. One season ends; the other moves on with a chance to play for a place in the Grand Final.

Three teams. Three finals. Plenty to play for.

It’s a great time of year to be involved with Orange City. If you can, get to Dubbo on Saturday or Cowra on Sunday and get behind the Lions and Lionesses.
