At one of my favourite places with my favourite yellow pony 💛🦄🫶

Winnie and I are in QLD for some more training.

There’s always something to learn!
Give yourself the space to be in the moment, to feel like a beginner, learn something new and learn from your horse.

Learn to be what the horse needs you to be and read the feedback they give you to be come a better horseman.

Stay present and enjoy the journey.

🦄 Liberty 🦄
Liberty session with Seraphina and Jellybean

Often we see liberty being practiced where the horse is being chased, run around , rushing, yelling. The horse ends up heightened, flustered, and reactive, being frightened into submission…

THATS NOT LIBERTY!

To me, liberty is about noticing the small things, the subtle shifts in the horse’s body language, the try, the hesitation, the softness.

It’s about learning to regulate with your horse, noticing when you need to set a boundary, notice when you applied too much pressure and noticing when you need to soften.

It’s constantly learning to read the feedback the horse is giving you and become sensitive to it.

Through this conversation, we show the horse that this is a place of connection,
partnership and trust because you are LISTENING!

Liberty was born from the desire to “speak horse”
to communicate in their language,
and move away from restraint, force, and control.

It’s not about control, it’s about willing connection.

Pay attention to the subtleties and your horse becomes your teacher.

🚨 Mud fever
🚨 Rain scald

Who else has been battling this with all the recent rain? 🌧️

Living in the Northern Rivers, it’s honestly hard to avoid.

A few weeks ago, our lovely TB Roy 🧡 (with his white socks 🤦‍♀️) was absolutely covered in mud fever.
His legs were puffy, sore, and clearly uncomfortable.

Karina from equico__ suggested I try her products—as a prevention as her products don’t strip the horses natural oils the products RESTORE them.
I’ve been really impressed with the results.

What I did:

* Every couple of days, I washed the affected areas with the Revive Shampoo
* Then followed up with the Restore Spray as a leave-on protective barrier

Simple, but effective.

The result?
A huge reduction in scabs, swelling, and sensitivity—and his legs are now looking and feeling so much better 🙌

I’ll definitely keep using this as part of our routine, especially while everything is so wet.

If you’re dealing with mud fever or rain scald at the moment, this combo is well worth trying.
